Rather than throw What He Meant Was, or anyone else, to the wolves, the White House will skip the correspondents' dinner entirely.

President Snowflake, ladies and gentlemen. He can't even get one of his employees to take a joke.

This is just like when he said SNL should be investigated for making fun of him. Just when you think he hit the bottom of the stupidity barrel he sucks the flavor directly through the wood.
A small part of me hoped that wasn't real, that he couldn't get that petty. But the larger part of me thought 'Yep, that sounds like Trump trying to feed his ego'. And lo and behold it's very real. My mother doubted me when I told her that and so I had to risk killing a few brain cells looking through his Twitter feed for those tweets.

Were they ordered to take a joke and this disobeyed it? It seems to be a recurring theme.

Could be. Just because Trump says "I told them not to go" in public means nothing. Trump lies all the time about everything.

But...well, you saw what happened to Sanders. Anyone forced to defend Trump's words and actions, especially when things aren't going so well (such as every promise Trump ever made), is going to get rekt. It's possible Trump is just calling this his war on the fake news media, but it's also possible he asked other people to go and they all refused.

    What a little B.

Edit: Alright I should add some constructive criticism. I just don't understand why Jack Dorsey would sit with this guy. Trump is why his platform is a toxic place. I mean this guy has lost any respect and hopefully he is out in less than 2 years. Please don't legitimize this fool.

Maybe Dorsey is Trumpkin or like most rich assholes love the Tax Break and don't give a bleep about anything else. Just wrong to visit this guy after he attacks your company and democracy in totality.

Trump actually has a fraction of a good point, in the past having a really good economy helped shield a president form a lot of criticism, the problem is those people actually behaved with some basic human decency so they didn't deserve near as much flack as trump gets.

Yep, Trump believes that a good economy means you get to do whatever you want as president, but unfortunately for him that isn't the case. Perhaps if wasn't an insane, geriatric mandarin then he wouldn't get shit on so much.

Also, huge difference between actually creating an improving economy from a dying one like Obama did and inheriting an already improving economy and doing nothing with it like Trump did.

Overall, he has been coasting and studdering on the accomplishment of the guy he replaced.

Trump has actively made the economy worse. Had he done nothing at all it would be a bit better now and a lot better than it's gonna be later.

Thank you for the time. Twitter is here to serve the entire public conversation, and we intend to make it healthier and more civil. Thanks for the discussion about that.

    Piss off, Jack Dorsey.

Trump is one of if not the most toxic people on Twitter. As POTUS and all his authoritarian attacks is enough. Add he has actually tweeted conspiracy theories, tweets from white nationalist ls, etc.

This guy just attacked your company for not losing followers. You want to listen to an authoritarian over what you claim Twitter is, an open social platform.

Yeah but no other president in our history has lied like he has, incited violence like he has, shown disrespect to the office like he has, burned bridges with allies like he has, shown no interest in being a president like he has, and been a security risk like he has.

I heard a good line on NPR the other day. most of Trumps policies are just taking Obama off them then adding Trump and the current year and claiming them as his own. Almost 100% of the continued growth and recovery is all on Obama still.

    And here we are again...
That first tweet read like he's talking about a hurricane. "It started strong but it has weakened, we still need to be ready for it with the military."

I would love him to send armed military to the border, please let a U.S. soldier shoot another guard as Trump causes yet another fuck up. At this point there's really no stopping him and there will be a limit to his stupidity.

What is the streak of him talking about impeachment for how many days in a row?

Wait, did Trump just say Mexico drew down on US military, to help drug dealers? Why isn't this page one of every news site on Earth?

    Oh, wait, here it is.

Two U.S. soldiers in a remote area of Texas were confronted by Mexican soldiers who thought the Americans had crossed into Mexico, U.S. officials said Tuesday. The Mexican troops reportedly removed a weapon from the American soldier who was armed.

The incident happened on April 13 and was first reported by Newsweek, which said one of the Mexican military members removed a service pistol from the hip of one of the Americans and threw it inside the U.S. government vehicle.

A Northern Command statement to The Associated Press on Tuesday said an inquiry by the Defense Department and CBP revealed that the Mexican military members believed they were on Mexican territory at the time they confronted the Americans. The incident happened on a slice of U.S. territory south of the border wall but north of the actual border.

"After a brief discussion between the soldiers from the two nations, the Mexican military members departed the area," Northern Command said. "The U.S. soldiers immediately contacted CBP, who responded quickly. Throughout the incident, the U.S. soldiers followed all established procedures and protocols." It said an inquiry is ongoing.
...wow. That was like, nothing. And Trump is using that to accuse the Mexican government of protecting drug smugglers?

Hey remember when this entire thread happend, causing our good friend @zenkai to realize he was cheering on a literal terrorist? EDIT:

And Trump's worried about Mexican soldiers putting a US soldier's gun back in his car?

This doesn't just reek of desperation. This reeks of a man who knows he soiled himself, and is desperately fanning the smell of his own bacon-wrapped feces onto the crowd and demanding they breathe deeply.

in a meeting this year, Mick Mulvaney, the White House chief of staff, made it clear that Mr. Trump still equated any public discussion of malign Russian election activity with questions about the legitimacy of his victory. According to one senior administration official, Mr. Mulvaney said it “wasn’t a great subject and should be kept below his level.”

Even though the Department of Homeland Security has primary responsibility for civilian cyberdefense, Ms. Nielsen eventually gave up on her effort to organize a White House meeting of cabinet secretaries to coordinate a strategy to protect next year’s elections.

This account of Ms. Nielsen’s frustrations was described to The New York Times by three senior Trump administration officials and one former senior administration official, all of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity. The White House did not provide comment after multiple requests on Tuesday.
So, there you have it. Mulvaney is saying that something along the lines of "Russia is attacking the election" is best kept below Trump's level. And he told that to the head of DHS. Who listened.

We've been saying for a while that Trump is incompetent. It's not a joke. And, apparently, Trump's own hand-chosen "only the best people" agree with that.

When Donald Trump goes golfing, he’s accompanied by an ever-present Secret Service detail tasked with keeping him safe (and, according to a new book, helping Trump cheat by repositioning errant balls).

While Trump’s predecessors also hit the links, Trump both golfs more frequently than past presidents and opts to play at courses that are more costly to protect, namely his own. (Barack Obama often hit the links on courses located on military bases.) And the Secret Service has wracked up hefty expenses protecting Trump during his golf outings. A review of federal spending data by liberal super-PAC American Bridge 21st Century found 65 instances of spending by the Secret Service related to presidential golf outings, for a total of $769,520. Another four line items for Secret Service spending related to Mar-A-Lago—the president’s private club, which has no golf course but is often home-base for his Florida golfing weekends—brought the total to $950,000.

These figures cover contracts for equipment, such as privacy fencing, portable bathrooms, tents, and barricades. In one instance, the Secret Service paid $15,600 for bulletproof glass so that Trump could attend the President’s Cup professional golf tournament in New Jersey in October 2017. Golf carts are a major expense, with the agency paying out at least $295,000 (other estimates, place the number even higher). The Secret Service did not respond to request for comment.

Not included in these totals are the man hours and travel costs associated with Trump’s golf trips. The website TrumpGolfCount.com has tallied 170 presidential trips to golf courses (all but one of those to a Trump-owned golf course) since Trump’s inauguration and estimates taxpayers have spent as much as $99 million for Trump to play—and perhaps cheat at—golf.
Sweet, so we're almost up to 9-digit costs so Trump can go and cheat at golf, something which he's known to regularly do.
