On that note as of yesterday early voting turnout in Texas was at 108% of the total 2016 vote with still a few more days of early voting to go.

It would not surprise me if total turnout ended up at around 150% of 2016, and that's probably going to make texas polling wildly inaccurate.

The 2020 Texas electorate is going to be nothing like that seen in prior elections, and given that polling is based on weightings derived from historical data, large changes in who votes such as here is going to throw those models off.

Hospitals on the whole get more funding for treating COVID19 patients, for Medicare patients only. But there's no evidence of abuse or over-reporting by hospitals and it's not like individual doctors are getting more in their paycheck per COVID19 patient, which is what Trump was insinuating.

And it's still a money loss given the financial strain of having patients on ICU and on ventilators for extended periods of time. That funding doesn't become profit, it goes straight into the cost to treat these people.

In short, Trump is a fucking dumbass.

Crazy part is this is nothing new.
This is how Medicare has done it for 60 years.
Severity, modalities, services rendered, time, complexity, diagnosis, secondary diagnosis, etc etc.

They would have been paid extra just by the length of stay and services/severity.

The 20% extra came from fucking Trump when he signed the CARES act and it only applies to 55 million people on Medicare.
They get no extra money for treatment of the other 260 million people in this country.

Doctors were not included in the extra fee bump on Medicare, nor were any other "doctor". Its facility reimbursement only.

CDC and CMS(Medicare) requirements are a positive test.

But its Trump and his supporters throwing whatever they can at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Besides the fact that positive tests do not get reimbursed more than negative test so his whole argument has nothing to do with the 102k positive test in the last 24 hours.

Honeslty, he "complains" a lot. Oh it's unfair. Oh it's rigged. Oh they're all out to get me because of all that stuff I did. It's the media. It's the Deep State. It's the Democrats. Somehow, everything that happened is someone else's fault.

Trump can only run as an underdog, because a self-proclaimed never-proven billionaire born into wealth and luxury and power needs to be trodden upon to appeal to the people he's selling lies to. It should ring hollow now that he's been in charge for four years.

reminds me of how people on the right were claiming climate scientists were somehow getting rich by claiming it was occurring. and when asked how, they would talking about getting grant money, ignoring that grants are not just a check to do whatever you want with.

So, once again I find myself in need of a mini-break from reading about the Election and what new atrocities Trump is committing on a daily basis, so I'm going to scale back on this forum (and the news in general) until after the election is over, at least. It's just far too stressful in combination with my physical therapy, so I'm going to use the time to watch people Phasmophobia instead because that fills me with less dread.

So some "entrepreneur" was trying to sell Trump swag just inside legal territory of our polling place. I happened to wonder to his little tent to start up a little conversation about America first and bringing jobs back. I asked him if he knew where those hats, and shirts, and pins, and bumper stickers, flags, and everything else he had were made. He said, "yup. Right here in the good ol' US of A." I asked him to look at the label on the hat and tell me where it was made. he said, " it says made on PRC. That's Puerto Rico(ignoring all the Chinese text)." I had to explain it meant the People's Republic of China. I also Explained that Trump could have all of it made here. He went on to tell me he wasn't going to pay higher prices for shit made here. I mentioned that Trump was all about America first. He quickly yelled for the guards to come save him from logic. I just waled away laughing at the idiot.
