Wel, that's Trump's fault, isn't it? At least Biden is trying. Trump spent the weekend golfing.
Trump is the worst president in the history of USA.

The damage he has done to the country is large.

What’s worse is his policys or lack of them and the culture damage he caused will last for decades.

    I wasn't saying there shouldn't be a set date.

Just that it should be sooner than January. Like maybe vote in November, inauguration by Thanksgiving-ish.

I don't like giving hard dates in hypotheticals, but there should be a hard date.

I believe most of us see this coming.

First Biden saying he is leaving up to his AG, but he picks his AG. No way this is not discussed and I guess the AG can go rogue.

So here we go knowing the Democrats are spineless. So we have investigations for 4 years and Trump and right wing media feast.

Yes if Clinton was elected we would have been on our millionth Benghazi, etc. Projection? Yes we had 4 years of 'Lock him/her up'. Trump like no other acted as an authoritarian with wanting everyone in prison.

If people want to bring up NY state crimes, I can agree. Problem is we are talking about possible Federal crimes that should be prosecuted so this doesn't happen in the future.

With the crying from the right and Dems having no fight we won't get anything.
It's not about Democrats vs Republicans here, it's Trump vs the Law. Biden doesn't have to do anything, and frankly, has better things to do like, RUN AN ENTIRE COUNTRY, than keep tabs on Trump and make sure he gets brought to justice when there are already PLENTY of people who will do that anyway.

Nah, just have it setup where any changes passed during the lame duck session is required to be revoted on by all parties within 90 days of taking office or it expires. Have the lame duck literally be lame in that respect.

But, he did in January... that was the brief ‘holy shit, Trump is starting WW3 to win the election’, before covid changed everything.

    Exactly
    @Paranoid Android

Biden doesn't need to go after Trump, all he needs to do is appoint an AG that will do his job and they will take care of that for him. Especially after being ran by Barr, the lower ranked ones will be itching to regain some credibility after all that (While the Supreme Court gets to lament in their loss of all remaining credibility).

Biden does his job, doesn't worry about Trump.
The AG does their job and is required to worry about Trump.
The Secretary of Treasury does their job and turns over Trumps taxes like they have been legally required to do this whole time.
Congress House Ways and Means Committee does their job and looks into it further.

Biden doesn't have to do anything but let the others do their jobs and if he does, then that actually makes him look bad and gives his cult ammo to believe the process is tainted.

Let the AG go after Trump, let him go after Kavanaugh for Perjury and an ACTUAL background check into those claims, let the AG look into those around Trump who protected him and why they did it and so on. Biden doesn't need to personally direct that stuff, he just needs an AG that will do his job professionally and that will already get done.

Another busy work load for the president today.

The President has no public events scheduled.

Jesus...I've had some slow weeks at work and all but...1-2 meetings a day, one of which is often over a meal? I've heard of "Senioritis" and all, and I remember it from back in my highschool/college days but holy fuckin shit.

How the fuck are we paying him to do basically nothing all day? I know there's a private schedule as well, but ain't no way his days are packed with private activities.

I've also been thinking about maybe having a law saying nothing except for emergency bills can be passed in the lame duck.

But then how do you stop Congress from declaring anything an emergency. "We need this emergency pay raise!"

Doesn't matter. Its not an issue of 'claim'. The constitution is entirely clear that the current President's term ends Jan 20th at mid day. No ifs or buts can avoid this short of a constitutional amendment.

There is no reality in which Trump is President at 12:01 outside of a full on coup.

Tell me: how many of those "more sane" members of his Administration are left? How many in the Intelligence community? How many at the Pentagon?

That doesn't mean that Trump doesn't think that that's how it would work out, though.

    That's what I'm hoping.

Trump clearly fucking hates Iran and is still in charge of the armed forces. A strike is 100% within his ability. Hopefully, he's been convinced there would be consequences -- possibly along the lines of "Saudi Arabia won't support your businesses"

And here comes the troop drawdown...

Down to 2500 troops in Afghanistan and Iraq by January 15th...

This won't bite us in the ass at all.

One of the few GOP Governors who seems to be taking COVID-19 seriously, Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland holds a press conference in which he announces new measures to combat the virus. Most of it looks good, except I don't understand this "bars and restaurants close at 10pm" bullshit that all of the governors seem to want to try. This isn't the time for half-assing it.

“Regardless of all the disinformation that’s being spread all over social media, this is not the flu. It’s not fake news. It’s not going to magically disappear just because we’re all tired of it and we want our normal lives back,” Hogan said during a press conference Tuesday. “We are in a war right now and the virus is winning.”
If a lot of that sounds mildly familiar it may be because Hogan's had a history of thumbing his nose at Trump. He will, apparently, be joining other governors in a video meeting with President-elect Biden on Thursday.

Assuming they do and knowing all the shit he's done.....can you imagine how bad the other stuff was that they stopped?

Lots of countries have tried limited opening times for bars. Has it actually worked anyway or have they all had to move to full closed because numbers just kept going?
