I guess for me, I can prepare for a hurricanes. Tornadoes can just appear out of nowhere.

They all suck and suck hard though.

Looks like we have a tornado area that is literally going to hit my county head on. Now, the good thing, is they aren't doing much damage, but I HATE storms. We also have more flash flood warnings just because of all of the rain we have gotten in the last week, hell the last couple of months.

So the White House apparently went to extreme lengths to keep the USS John McCain 'out of sight' while Trump was in Japan.

Lengths that included having a tarp cover up the ships name on the hull, anything that had the ships name on it being covered up or removed and sailors who would wear caps with the ships name on it being given the day off. A barge was also positioned near it to hide the name from the Mango Manchild.

He denied it on Twitter...as if a bunch of sailors would go out of their way hide a $1.8 billion military vessel. And then to do so without immediate repercussions...

He might actually be telling the truth, as surprising as that sounds. He only states that he wasn't informed about it. It is entirely possible that some White House staffer knew he couldn't resist running his mouth if he saw the USS John McCain, so the staffer told the Navy to make sure it was out of sight so it didn't cause drama. This is not really any better for Trump, since the root cause is still him being a petty manchild, but it is possible it was somebody trying to avoid the scene (and doing a terrible job at it)

Oh I'm fairly certain it was done without his knowledge purely because they know he'd throw a shit fit if he saw it. I have no love lost for McCain (look at his history--it ain't pretty), but one huge positive thing he did towards the end of his life was be one of the sole voices of dissent in the GOP against Trump.

FARGO — The Washington Post recently ran an article pointing out that Kevin Cramer, a North Dakota U.S. senator, is trying to steer federal business, potentially worth billions of dollars, toward a Dickinson company that was a large contributor to his 2018 campaign.

For many, Cramer's obsessive advocacy for Fisher Industries to build portions of President Donald Trump's wall on the southwest border — while just as obsessively bashing the straight-laced U.S. Army Corps of Engineers — would raise ethical red flags about favoritism and influence peddling. But, this being the Trump era and Cramer gleefully in bed with the president, ethics no longer matter.

So Cramer has openly promoted Fisher Industries, as has U.S. Rep. Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota, despite the muddying of ethical waters. Tommy Fisher, CEO of the company, was Cramer's guest at Trump's State of the Union address in January 2018.

And, history shows, Fisher Industries has muddied plenty of water. As reported elsewhere, the company has a lengthy timeline of criminal tax evasion, pollution citations and environmental infractions.

The company has paid millions of dollars in fines in Arizona for violating environmental regulations, including as recently as 2017, according to The Arizona Republic.

The Bismarck Tribune also reported David Fisher, listed as a former president and CEO of Fisher Industries, was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges in 2005.

Ethics, indeed.

But perhaps the best-known case in North Dakota involving Fisher Industries involved large-scale federal tax fraud that ended in the 2009 conviction of former co-owner Micheal Fisher, Tommy's brother, and two company accountants.

Micheal Fisher received 37 months in prison and was ordered to pay fines and restitution totaling about $400,000. Fisher Sand & Gravel, a subsidiary of Fisher Industries, admitted to defrauding the U.S. government and was ordered to pay $1.16 million in restitution, penalties and fines.

But it's clear from court documents that others in the company knew about Micheal's illegal shenanigans and, more tellingly, benefited from the same activity.

Court documents say that Fisher Sand & Gravel, "acting through its principal officers, directors, and its accounting employees caused the personal expenses of Micheal Fisher and other Fisher family members to be paid for by FSG."

And: "FSG's officers and accounting personnel knowingly and intentionally concealed Micheal Fisher's and other Fisher family members' receipt of income in the form of corporate distributions from the United States by failing to report these payments to the Internal Revenue Service ...."

"Officers." Plural.

"Other Fisher family members." Plural.

Those words show up time and again in court documents, in some cases involving personal travel expenses and condominium rental. Others in the company knew what was happening and didn't act. Court documents say Fisher Sand & Gravel was warned by auditors for years about "the issue of personal expenses of Fisher family members being paid by the company."

Tommy Fisher, for what it's worth, took over the company from his father in 1996.

Ethics. Even a pious U.S. senator from North Dakota is willing to set them aside when it comes to this president and his wall, apparently.

It seems to be making more sense now....

Russia was what Mueller led his statement with. It did not vanish. Trump just heard from every intelligence agency he has, plus Mueller, that Russia attacked the election. He's still done nothing.

And, of course, Mueller never once said "no obstruction". That's a lie.

He also didn't say no conspiracy. He said there wasn't enough evidence to charge a broader conspiracy. That's a pretty big difference.

He specifically said he couldn't prove they were aware of the laws.

And of course now that Mueller clarified a bit more what he actually meant and so they can no longer spin it, he's suddenly now the enemy.

I mean, Mueller was essentially saying "there's so much fucking obstruction, we're drowning in it. But I was forbidden from recommending indictment of the President, regardless of the evidence, so I'll just highlight all the mountains of proof of Obstruction of Justice in my report, with a big blinking arrow saying "CONGRESS, IMPEACH", and let it be."

Trump could have dragged Hillary Clinton onto the White House lawn by the hair and stabbed her to death while being filmed by several hundred cameras from every conceivable angle, announced that he'd killed her, and then confessed directly to law enforcement every time he was questioned about the incident, and given that evidence, Mueller would have not recommended indicting him for that murder. The evidence doesn't matter, he was forbidden from ever making that leap, period.

That's a bullshit policy, but that's not Mueller's fault. The Mueller Report is as close as Mueller was allowed to get to chanting "LOCK HIM UP" while waving handcuffs and having a cadre of FBI agents charge at Trump to arrest him.

The example in this story along with his Russia retraction is him attacking Mueller as a Never Trumper when he bragged just yesterday that Mueller's statement exonerated him. He also did this when Barr made his statement.


So he loves the report when he can lie about it.

I think he was referencing the fact that Mueller said the Trump tower meeting WOULD have been a criminal conspiracy, but in that case, it was required that Jr KNEW he was breaking the law for it to be a criminal conspiracy. So Jr was saved by his own stupidity.
