Long waits for PvP and seemingly meaningless PvE.
Long waits for PvP and seemingly meaningless PvE.
Useless pve and reinstalling game ofc.
I'm a normal text, I'm a bold text.
Frankly I am not sure why some games have more players than GW2. GW2 is more fun from the start than some of the player heavy mmorpgs. Fast paced combat, multiple weapon switching, each class being able to dps, tank, heal based on weapon choice, mastery etc; in my opinion, GW2 has more to offer than WoW and FF14. But sadly, not many people play it and Arenanet also do not advertise the game the way Blizzard and Square Enix advertise their mmo.
Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos was the game that brought me into gaming. I was 17 years old then, I abhorred gaming before this game. From then on, I became a fan of Warcraft and Blizzard. To see it all go down the drain like this is truly sad for me. No king rules forever but at least some of them went down in history as real badasses. I hoped Blizzard and Warcraft would be one of them but it is no longer possible.
The horrible performance combined with sub par graphics.
if i set everything to lowest/ best performance it still utilises 80% of my 2080ti and looks like crud. God forbid if i add anything it just goes to 100% and stutters when you move the camera.
I got to max level when it first came out however It hasn't aged well at all.
GW2 suffers the reverse of other mmos though - it's a blast to begin with and gets old really fast. I loved vanilla, but trying to come back in other expacs has just put me off the game entirely. Having to grind mastery from content that just isn't fun to unlock new specs (specifically HoT - I hate that expansion with a passion) was a poor choice imo.
Add to that the boring minuscule power gained from endgame activities and players like me just peace out. I don't play rpgs for cosmetics.
because of how they treated past story events.. "oh you didn't play during the Lion's Arch attack, fuck you.. you never get to see the story"
All season 1 is basically in the game at this point except being able to play through the Lions Arch battle.
I know plenty of people who weren't around then that can tell you the season 1 story from in-game material. All the rewards are in-game as well.
Complaints about missing season 1 are just weird...Its like getting made that you can't replay the AQ thing in WoW except in GW2 you can replay 90% of it.
Resident Cosplay Progressive
This game sucks without good ping especially for PvP (Which was a mess last time I played 2017-2018 with Necro AoE spam etc and turtling)
Compare to WoW, GW2 has;
1) No Range Check
2) No Face/Direction Check
3) No Melee Leeway
+ Terrible anti-aliasing, terrible cpu usage, terrible gpu usage, terrible fps (Relative to visuals), looks ugly as sin because of artifacts from no real AA and bad LOD's. WoW looks 10x better (Cleaner, sharper, clearer + Waaay better aesthetic but that's subjective) it's like GW2 has zero Anisotropic Filtering roflmao. Seriously it's so bad, it's like they don't even care pre-PoF (Desert Scenery is nice) for example every AoE is just a red circle on the ground.
Just so much technical problems I can't get past, I think I got to Mastery 110 or something (100% PoF + 50% Forest place + 10-20% Normal tree). I have a 2012 account but never actually played until 2017 PoF release,. It'l be dead soon so bad time investment.

Content drought is a combination of catchup mechanics and no new content.
its bad, thats what
It's amusing sort of. I missed the karka LA invasion myself, since I work weekends at times. I did the island ancient karka event thing, which crashed and I got no rewards from after like, hours of stupid gameplay. I'm sure folks might like to start up clicking on signs in Flame & Frost for a month, but eh, I've moved on...
The best part of Living Story Season 1, was that the 2/4 week cadence meant when something sucked, something else was coming along soon enough. Most of the material is better left as a historical footnote, and the idea of reliving it is amusing.
"I only feel two things Gary, nothing, and nothingness."
I got around to watching summit1g play gw2, and it sparked my urge to come back, i wanted to finally break down and play a warrior, made a pretty norn, got her looking great and even splurged and bought the sword wings backpack and gw2 cosmetic armor for her, then got to playing and remembered why i just cant get into the game, the combat, finding out about the action camera remedied this and it felt good until i got to about lvl 20 and just couldnt keep going.
i might be spoiled off picking up quests and doing them and doing side stuff on the way but hearts just feel bleh, stay in this invisible area and kill/gather/escort/whatever till its full, scale this giant tower for vistas, and when you think youre done, you realize youre missing 2 little points on your map and get frustrated and spend 20min googling and staring at a blown up map trying to figure out what youre missing. It gets old quick.
Because it isn't as fun to play solo as WoW is.
Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.
I think a lot of people feel overwhelmed by the many weapons choices/combos, the varied abilities, the talent trees, specializations etc.
But should they dumb all that down? No. GW2 has its loyal playerbase and seems to be profitable, unlike other MMORPGs that shut down. There's people everywhere.
GW2 = The MMORPG I play for the class gameplay, cosmetics and world content. It's such an immensely beautiful game now that I no longer run on a shitty setup.
WoW = the MMORPG I play socially and in instanced content and goldmaking. God knows I ain't playing it because I'm having fun with playing my main these days...
