I keep almost replying to our burner. Before I remember that there is no point. He won't listen. He can't (or won't) understand any points made. His words will vanish like piss in the wind almost before I can word my reply.

Time to give up talking to the die-hard Brexiteers and treat them like the naughty and petulant children that they are. As long as they continue to ignore reality, I can happily ignore him explaining all the wonderful colours on the Emperor's New Clothes.
When challenging a Kzin, a simple scream of rage is sufficient. You scream and you leap.

You weren't even when you were in the EU, lol.

Also, considering how the EU managed to herd 27 different countries into a common agreement during Brexit but the UK couldn't even get past its own parliament until the eleventh hour I'd say that you were getting a good deal having manifestly more qualified people do the negotiating for you.

Every heartwarming human interest story in America is like "he raised $20,000 to keep 200 orphans from being crushed in the orphan-crushing machine" and then never asks why an orphan-crushing machine exists or why you'd need to pay to prevent it from being used.

Not necessarily. The EU is negotiating a free trade agreement with New Zealand, and already have bilateral agreements in place, but the FTA isn't done yet. https://ec.europa.eu/trade/policy/co...s/new-zealand/

Some disagreement between EU and NZ are related to geographical indications like feta, gruyere and port (obviously there are other ones like Champagne as well - but they are not a problem for NZ).

Basically the EU require that 'feta' is made in certain ways in specific parts of Greece - while NZ have other feta cheeses, including "Danish Style Feta" (possibly made in Zealand). The uk doesn't care so much about such product labels.

Cool, lemme know when the UK manages to find a qualified negotiator since it apparently lost all of them when it left the EU. Lol.

The European economy is nearly ten times larger than that of the UK, sweetheart. You're not in a power position anymore.

No Empire, no EU, and soon no Commonwealth once Liz finally kicks the bucket.

I think that's a new take. UK will just sell cheap stuff.

How? No one knows considering they have to import most of their shit first but hey, who cares, they'll compete on price.

Bruv, it'll always remain economically larger because the continent has about six times the population of the UK and vastly fewer English people. Got fuckall to do with taxes.

    A 1-2% increase isn't a boom and it's entirely a function of y'all crashing your currency. Lol.

So are capitalist ones. What's your point?

Also, the EU is no more socialist than the UK.

Much like how London props up the rest of the UK. We know.

Cool. Most states in the US aren't and haven't ever been net contributors either, so not sure what your point is here.

Thankfully no, I don't think my palate would forgive me.

Similarly you don't live in the EU so whatever silly gotcha you're about to construct is equally as applicable to yourself. /s

Begs the question of what y'all do to it that makes it end up so bad by the time it appears on the plate. Lol.

Invading 90% of the world for spices and then only using like three of them remains hilarious.

    Speaking of burned bridges.

Sinn Fein is now the most popular political party in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland following a sharp collapse in DUP support. The lead in NI is about 9% as of May this year.

We may end up seeing a united Ireland in our lifetimes. :fingerscrossed: Maybe even 74 county Ireland.

Who cater to local tastes. I don't blame Hershey for continuing to make garbage chocolate considering that's what their customers seem to want, either.

I was not talking about London, actually. That's one of the few places in the UK besides Edinburgh and Glasgow that I've had a decent meal. Lul.

Let's see. York, Norwich, Manchester, Liverpool, couple places in Warwickshire, that one pub I got dragged to by a Grindr hookup in Cambridge that gave me food poisoning. It kinda blends together into a Grand Tour of bad food.

Also, Australia has better chips. Sorry not sorry.

Putting up with temporary gastronomic torture is more than worth the historical sites, unfortunately.

Luckily since I have EU citizenship I can always just hop across the Channel for some good food, no visa required. Remember when y'all were able to do that?

They can't, ETIAS is set to be a for-pay system for third party nationals like UK citizens. You don't get in without a charge. Lol.
