    Sorry I meant the Trouble.
It started 50 years ago and finished 20 years ago so I imagine quite some voters were too small to really remember it.
The harsh reality of it is not that fresh in many people's mind, and for many it was just something that happened far away and never affected their daily lives.

Don't you mean "the English never gave two fucks about Northern Ireland"? Because as I'm far as I'm aware the majority of Northern Ireland's population actually consider itself to be British - 2011 census. "Irish" is the third most popular option below "Northern Irish".

It's an interesting one, I've always struggled with it. Am I British or am I English. Am I both? What does it mean to be British that is different and distinct from being English.

Personally, I have too much respect for e.g., the Irish, Scottish & Welsh nationalists to insist we all call ourselves British.

Wasn't meaning to catch you, Slant.... just pointing out

    It's gone a bit quiet.

Are the usual suspects on holiday at the moment?

Sunning themselves on a nice beach somewhere on the Med?

Am surprised no-one has brought up the spectre of "Blind" Brexit yet, as much-reported today.

    "Blind" Brexit?

    Seriously?

An admission, on a literal level, that no-one who voted Leave knew what the fuck they were voting for?

I am sharpening my pitch fork.

It's been well-reported today - there's no point linking newspapers as they each have their bias

Basically: Barnier stating / acknowledging (depending on your viewpoint) that the terms won't be agreed in time. UK needs to leave with a backstop arrangement and no-one knows what the outcome will be.

I'm guessing it will be like An Indecent Proposal only without the sex appeal. Luckily Macron likes older women so it might work! Good luck Mrs May.

Anyone wanna make bets whether on whether Phillip gets to watch from the wardrobe? Or maybe from a chair but always dressed as Superman (sorry couldn't resist).

Is that like where you leave a shop with one of those cards where you scratch out the silver foil to see what prize you've won? I must say I don't think that's a good way to determine a countries future.

Who is Alexandre Benalla? Emmanuel Macron’s former bodyguard and alleged lover?

Perhaps his boyfriend will be there too!

13/11/2022 Sir Keir Starmer. "Brexit is safe in my hands, Let me be really clear about Brexit. There is no case for going back into the EU and no case for going into the single market or customs union. Freedom of movement is over"

Sad, but to be fair, he warned and hinted often enough that red lines wouldn't be crossed and that this chequers thing is rubbish.

52% of the British thought it is an awesome way to determine a country's future. I mean, we all know the British like gambling. This really is just yet another gamble. Who knows, they might be the dude that bet his son would shoot a goal at the world cup at birth or something...

He isn't picky, as long as it agrees with his fantasy, he quotes it. It might be Mickey Mouse, as long as it agrees with him.

With the amount of tabloid links to the likes of The Sun, Daily Mail, and Express he has posted in this thread?

It's either that or a complete troll, I am not entirely sure which.

It's more like we entered a competition to win a boat and accidentaly won it. So now we have to deal with owning a boat, moving and storing it already cost more than the boat itself, it's nowhere near the sea and we don't know how to sail. Meanwhile the politicians are arguing over what colour it should be and who'll take the wheel.

You making homophobic dogwhistles in 2018 bruv?

Alexandre looks like he would be a fantastic hugger so props to Macron if he's been lucky enough to be tucked up safe and secure in those arms. Anyway May is a Tory so the more the merrier when it comes to the bedroom. I might not agree with their policies but when it comes to an orgy they know what's up.

Macron is in for the night of his life no doubt.

I'm sorry but when did this turn into an episode of Bullseye?
