The only reason Mueller isn't 110% "by the book" is that being "by the book" means you can only go up to 100%.

Also, why the hell does he even have a hotel? Isn't "I am Trump's lawyer" good enough to get him a real place in New York City? There are vacancies in Trump Tower and the price drops by the month.

    From CNBC:

NBC News reported that one raid occurred at a law office at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, located in midtown Manhattan. FBI agents also raided a room at the Loews Regency Hotel in Manhattan, where Cohen has been staying, and executed the warrants there.

A doorman at the Regency said, "They are still here," when asked about the FBI.

A woman who answered a call placed to Cohen's room in the hotel said she was his wife. When asked if the FBI was in the room, she hung up.
"Excuse me, is the FBI looking through your place for your husband's porn collection?"

I think this might have been the funniest unintentional troll I've heard about in a while.

    AND THERE IT FUCKING IS.

    http://thehill.com/homenews/administ...mpaign-finance

Michael Cohen is being investigated for possible bank fraud and campaign finance violations, The Washington Post reported Monday.

Citing a person familiar with the case, the newspaper reported the focus of the investigation into Cohen hours after it was confirmed that FBI agents had raided his Manhattan office.

Cohen's lawyer, Stephen Ryan, said in a statement that federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained a search warrant after receiving a referral "in part" from special counsel Robert Mueller. Ryan called the search “completely inappropriate and unnecessary.”

Agents reportedly seized emails, tax documents and records related to his payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels.
    Time for a Nothingburger.

Watching Trump whining about this in front of his national Security team is just...perfect.

So Trump said the FBI "broke into" Cohens offices, because he understand how warrants work, and then proceeded to spend the next 2 minutes whining about how he's a victim.

He then made up a reporter who "isn't a fan" of his but totally agrees with Trumps opinion that "this is now getting ridiculous".

He's definitely panicking. But the sickest part of all this? He loves it. He loves all the attention. You can see whenever he's on camera and makes these statements. He genuinely believes that the only a fraction of the citizenry is against him.

    He's delusional and panicked.

Technically it is only a fraction, there are some citizens who still support the big orange turd.
Thanks for the contribution of pedantry.

No. I think I'll continue to put my faith in people who aren't interested in being so pedantic, interpreting what I wrote correctly.

They supposedly raided his home too. I can't wait for the Republican outcry about how mean they were to Cohen. Similar to the whining that started to increase lately about the no-knock warrant on Manafort's house.

Ah man, I was going to come here and scream "WITCH HUNT!" in all caps as the Mango Babadook is aught to do, but the actual Citrus Hitler beat me to it!

"I just heard they broke into the office of one of my personal attorneys, a good man," Trump told reporters at the White House. "It's a disgraceful situation... I've been saying it for a long time. I have this witch hunt constantly going on."

Oh President Herp Derp, flail and flounder more.

It's already been pointed out, but I'd like to repeat it: Attorney-Client Privilege doesn't work when the attorney and client have conspired together to break the law. The Cohen-Trump conversations can very likely become admissible evidence.

Mmm, so full on that Nothingburger with extra Mueller Sauce.

EDIT: It cut off the word "sauce" so I put it back. Not sure why it did that.

As soon as Andrew McCarthy gets an article out, I'm going to have a very strong opinion about this.

    It's a joke, it's a joke.

    ...broke into the office
Because Trump has no fucking clue how warrants actually work.

    ...an attack on our country
No, this is the language of petty authoritarians. Trump is not the country. He's (depressingly) the head of state. He represents the country, but is not the country. I'd call our law enforcement diligently following up on any criminal wrongdoing, even if by the president and/or those close to him, as them protecting the country, but that's just me. I guess I'm not a petty authoritarian who thinks the world revolves around me.

No. I mean plain wording that anyone who isn't interested in pedantry for the sake of it is able to comprehend.

Pretty simple stuff really. It's odd you're having such a difficult time with it. It's almost as if it's designed entirely to serve your penchant for being a pedant.

I mean, we have to see what this is all about. I think a lot of people (myself included) really used the nothingburger title in reference to Trump-Russia collusion, and so far this looks like bank fraud and campaign finance violations by Cohen. Which is worthy of investigation, don't get me wrong. And if Trump lied about his knowledge of the Stormy Daniels payment, that could be problematic too.
