Exclamation More WoW info from Blizzcon

Just to summ it all at one place:

    • Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor will shard for players starting at lvl 110, previous leveling experience will remain unchanged (besides scaling).
    • Flying will be unlockable similar way as it is now.
    • Possible (not yet decided if they are gonna implement it) bounties on players as PVP feature (inspired by GTA Online).
    • Zones will scale up to level cap of the expansion (Outland will go up to 80, Cata and MoP 80-90) as expected.
    • WoW Classic servers are still in early stage of development. No info how they are gonna work exactly.

    • No boat of your own.
    • More character slots per realm.
    • No plans for lootboxes in WoW.

    • No new dances.
    • Visual update for worgen/goblin not currently planned for this expansion.
    • Concerted effort in 7.3.5 to reduce memory costs on some performance things.

    • Legion legendaries system will not continue.
    • Updated worgen/goblin models will not be a thing at launch but is a thing they are going to do, promise.
    • Worgen may be able to autotransform back to human form out of combat. Ion found this idea interesting and see no reason why it could not happen.
    • No plans for shared item stash for your alts yet.
    • Titanforge items system stays. It will be reduced in item slots it can affect.
    • Ulduar timewalking coming in 7.3.5.
    • Sorry, no gnome paladins.

    • Playable beta hopefuly early next year.

Still cannot find interview with Ion that is goin on in background of tradechat video.
Feel free to add anything else you find.

This XPac feels like WoD in that it feels like they had something else planned, it didn't work and they scrapped it and we got this. Thus the little information on the big systems and the tired old Horde vs Alliance story.

Or maybe they do not want to give out too much information considering that this community can't seem to accept and understand that stuff presented at Blizzcon is something at early design stages that can change and everything said during Blizzcon is "a promise" that they will break at the first small change.

What different was planned for WoD that was scrapped? Besides the content that gets cut or never makes it out of planning like in all projects. WoD was always going to be about Garrosh escaping to build up an army to get revenge on Azeroth. Initially they were thinking of uniting all the monster races, then resurrecting the old warlords, then settled on the time travel/AU version we got.

You people and your conspiracy theories about WoW. They doubled their team size, it took too long to integrate them to be efficient so they had to cut or discontinue a lot of the features they had planned for WoD to get it out. It's nothing more than that.

So if expansions can be done in any order, how does that work for WoD and Legion?

We pretty much know they did. Argus was originally being looked at as an expansion. 7.3 was going to be Thal'Dranath, followed by an Argus expansion. For some reason they decided against that.

Yep Ion or Alex said 80-90 for MoP and Cata. I hope they extend it to 80-100 myself, would like to skip WoD. So it's not quite any order, it's "TBC and/or Wrath" followed by "MoP and/or Cata" followed by WoD followed by Legion.

LOL no worgen or goiblin updates.

Where did Ion contradict this? Chris is the Art Director, so if he is saying it's not happening, who the hell is making these new models?

To be fair, WoD leveling was actually good. it was the rest of the game that stunk. And these days it only takes a couple hours to get through all 10 lvls.

I haven't watched it, but is there a reason for the 2016 interview?

all those interviews and no one is delving into the fucking story and asking about N'zoth and THAT battle for azeroth

WoD was always what they had planned. They said they were too ambitious and had to scrap a bunch of shit which left the expansion in an unfinished-like state. Then from there they added absolutely nothing through the 6.1 patch (selfie cam lul) and hardly anything in the 6.2 patch. So it started off with little to no content due to the amount of scrapped shit and continued with no content added through the patches. That’s why WoD failed and they’ve talked about this a lot already.

I think they revealed systems/content they know for a fact won’t be scrapped because it’s pretty much ready but they aren’t willing to reveal anything extra that might get scrapped because the playerbase can’t handle that and will blame blizzard for “breaking their promise” if they scrap something they talked about.

With WoD they talked about a ton of shit at blizzcon/after blizzcon and most of it was scrapped. So people flew off the handle (rightfully so) and said blizzard broke their “promises”. So now they only reveal what they know is ready, anything else can be discussed afterwards.

If that's true, then it may be because they decided:
    -No more Legion related stuff
-Need to focus on a lesser threat
-Argus wouldn't be diverse enough since it's destroyed.

A smart observation. People yelling that this is the next WoD don't realize that WoD's fault was lack of content. That also lead to you doing the same thing for too long, getting sick of, then hating it.

Yeah I suspect it was something like that, to be honest.
