What if I buy a retail box as a F2P??

So I've recently decided to give SWTOR another shot and oh well it seems interesting.
I've always been F2P, nothing paid in it and I've seen at a local store that for like 18$ Star Wars: The Old Republic + 30 Day's(Origin code) or for like 10$ the retail box which will be nice to also have the box.
So my question is, if I enter the retail code do I get 30 days and access to expansions and preferred status? This entire system with F2P, preferred, subscribed and cartel stuff feels awkward to understand for a newcomer.

When you enter the code you will be a subscriber for 30 days.

You will have full access to everything. no limits beyond what you can accomplish.

When that 30 days is up. You will drop to preferred status.
