So I've been seeing this new trend on youtube that started with people buying mystery boxes of ebay and it's now evolved into people buying mystery boxes off of the dark web. It's sad because most of them don't seem to have a clue about what the dark web actually is and some of them are doing this with unsecured computers and having the boxes delivered directly to their houses. Then they're shocked with some of the stuff in the box. People really need to educate themselves on the dark web before even considering getting on to it.

Clueless youtubers are not getting access to the dark web. The whole point of the technology is that it can't be scanned or joined by anyone who isn't in on whatever they're peddling. The garbage nerds are finding by installing the tor browser and following online tutorials is just a scam to take advantage of people who aren't bright enough to know the difference.

Just asking.. Do you actually know what the "dark web" is? Just listening the first few seconds makes everything clear in that video. And if you really are worried, should you not know what about you are worried about? This thread and those videos feel like some gag based on a myth.

These people act like they stumbled upon some new an profound trend but reality is otherwise. Just like the "regular" internet, the dark web (we can talk about what that term even means) is ominous because nefarious stuff can go down on it. In reality, that type of stuff isn't as widespread as these reporters would want you to believe. Like some vlogger going to the "ghetto" looking for a bunch of shootings and carjacking out in the open only to be shocked by normal people living normal lives, albeit poorer lives.

Lol yeah this popped into my YT recommended page a few weeks ago. I have seen a few. Those guys are not even wearing gloves when opening the box. Shit, I'd put on gloves and a gas mask if I was to open something like that. Such stupidity makes me question the validity of these videos.
