You do know Azeroth is a Titan right and that’s what he is in love with. The planet is just a shell around her. So no he isn’t in love with a planet but the gooey Titan center

I know Warcraft is very, very, very light on realism, but fuck... this is just stupid.
sure cause flying on a giant cloud serpent is realistic

This was Sargeras, first appearance in full form in a cinematic and hes THE big bad so they had only one mandate: make him credible. And....they got it utterly wrong.

    1. They have the guy hiding in a cloud like a coward.
    2. The cinematic is basically Sargeras getting his ass kicked.
    3. He whines and screams like a baby.
    4. He gets jailed and now illidan is going to kick his ass for eternity.
    5. Sargeras kills ZERO lore heroes on his way out.
    6. Velen, Khadgar, and co actually look BORED watching this play out.

Now, it might feel really cool to you TODAY to see this. But this irreparably does damage to the lore. You see, Sargeras’ victories are ALL off screen, rumored, little to no corroboration for any of it. THIS is his FIRST screen time EVER. that means going forward THIS cinematic WILL define who Sargeras is. For the next 10 years, when kids ask “who is sargeras?” People will tell them to watch this video. And they will come away with the impression that Sargeras is an inept stupid moron that loses despite his massive size. In short, his lore will be dimished to that of an imperial stormtrooper over time.

Some people should be fired for this cinematic. They had one job. And they blew it.
1-You don't know how Titans travel the Universe or Sargeras for that matter, so it might just be like that. And Coward?
*You do realize this is dramatic effect right? To get the people watching be like "Holy shit" when he appears in the cinematic.
*Since you talking about lore, one can put 2 and 2 together and belive he is killing everything on the surface to do the same as he did in Argus, turn Azeroth into his slave, the cloud is actually a fel storm.

2-The expansion called legion ends with the Legion master being defeated. The horror.

3-You mean the "Noo" part? What else you want him to say?A poetic text?"I will get your kids next time?"The guy was trying to get to Azeroth for Milenias and when he finally has it in his grasp he is being pulled out from his prize.

4-Alongside the titans and for all we know, Illidan can die and Sargeras will remain imprisioned.

5-This here, Sargeras doesn't need to kill anyone else in this cinematic. This cinematic should feel like a victory, this guy is responsible for EVERY death that has ever ocurred in Warcraft story.Every single event in this game's history happened because of this fucking titan. He didn't need to do anything in this cinematic because everything else was his fault. And even then, he struck the fucking planet with a sword.

6-Kudos of you for not showing evidence of them being bored. In case you don't know, "frozen in fear' is something that can happen, you don't need to move your body to show expression, it helps, but its not necessary.

And the rest of your post?Sargeras doesn't need to have one cinematic displaying how badass he is because if you look at the origin, everything happened because of him and even then, in this cinematic he managed to stab a planet.I showed this to people that don't even play wow and they were fucking surprised because he STABBED A PLANET WITH A SWORD.No one is gonna compare him to a stormtrooper because he actually did something.

You focused on the stupid things when there are actually things wrong with the cinematic and its aftermaths.

1-The Sword that hit the planet didn't cause Tsunamis and earthquakes let alone kill everything on Azeroth.

2-Illidan didn't had reason to stay since was never mentioned that the Titans were going to imprision him.As far as i believe the original dialogue was cut.

The two major times we've seen the Lich King in Wrath's in-game cinematics were DK zone completion quest and wrath gate. The Lich King was beat back both times and ran with his tail between his legs. Think about that.

IMO the amorphous form of Sargeras was well thought of. Makes sense of Titans to traverse the cosmos as nebulas rather than swimming around. It also makes them be more than just gigantic humanoids. Sargeras emerging from the cloud made me think of End of Days (somewhat shitty movie though but awesome scene) where the devil actually comes out in an actual physical form for awhile. Also I was under the impression that Sargeras was pretty damn captivated by Azeroth and that's why he wasn't just outright wrecking it.

Not realism per se but in-game consistency. Either a sword like that splits the planet or it doesn't. Can't have it split THIS planet but for plot reasons it fails to do the same thing to THAT planet.

No a Titan. Azeroth is the “final titan”. They are also called world souls but that is just what they are before they emerge from the planet. She is still a Titan. It’s like calling children not human simply because they aren’t adults.

Agreed 100%, the books have always made the lore more engaging then in-game story telling.

he is the clouds, not hiding in them, as he forms the clouds go away.
the cinematic is sargeras fucking slaughtering our planet, then getting jailed
    he whines and screams? what?
he says "no" and he raors...
illidan isnt gunna do shit byt fucking berate him
you think AT FUCKING ALL sargeras was gunna kill someone?
i think you got "upmost horror and disbeleif" mixed with bored.
also velen is happy to after thousands of fucking years to finally be over with it.

your opinion is well put, but just... bad...
they did AN AMAZING JOB with the cinematic, and maybe you shoudlent be a jackass claiming they should be fired, teron did a fucking amazing job

Exactly how is Sargeras back now? Didn't he need a huge portal or something? And if he had Antorus/Argus all along, couldn't he use that titan's power to make the portal? The whole story is fucked up.
he had to approach, during it you slowly see the clouds approach and form.
the portal to argus was made, and then it would only be a matter of time until he would use it to get to azeroth
also he didnt have the titans all along, he only recently got them, like for example we come in just in time to save Eonar from being enslaved

Actually it wasn't that bad... Hiding in the clouds? Perhaps he was planning something. Observing the planet.
And no he is not getting his ass kicked. He's getting imprisoned.
Whines and screams like a baby? He says "noo" becuse he's realizing whats happening.
And dude Velen clearly looks relieved at the end.

Kills no lore characters. But he stabbs the freakin planet... Thats alot worse.
And Blizz clearly didn't want to show too much becuse they want to keep some mystique around him.
And no... No one should be fired! They did an awesome job! Case closed!

Something tells me when the void lords appear so will Azeroth. But that will be the end. We won’t see her until the game is finished. Elune will come and heal her child and Azeroth will be made while again. But doing so will weaken Elune which will allow the void lords to enter our universe and kill her or something. They will ruin it somehow I’m sure.

    1. He's still manifesting. Not hiding in the cloud. The beam merely accelerated said manifestation, and subsequent yanking.
    2. He's getting pulled to the seat of the pantheon by the other titans and probably some Macguffin combined.
    3. "NNOOOOOOOOOOO" *STAB* is not whining like a baby.
    4. We don't see the outcome. It's left open. Probably so blizz can re-use sarg (likely in void expansion).
    5. He stabbed the fucking world. Azeroth is a lore character, who is now gravely wounded. Though I spose, his hand smashing the vindicaar on the way out would have been shocking.
    6. I don't recall seeing their faces.

we only saw velens and it was in absolute releif as his multiple thousands year war was over

it was designed to damage the lore, more precisely the new writers without metzen are trying to reshape the lore to their preference. you see this a lot in comic books etc when new authors take over the stories for old characters

in wows case the burning legion is gone and now we have their new, even betterer evil: the void

the night elves were too complicated, so they have been eliminated and replaced with the nightborne who are the new, cooler version. from now on night elves will be the archers for the humans and nothing else. all the allied races are basically cooler versions of some other race.

the story was "bogged down" with too many details so now it's just red continent against blue continent. now at last everything is so simple even a child can understand

also they are working toward a big twist where we find out that the light is just as evil as the void and then we have to fight them both.

idk man we are in for a rough few years here. hopefully all their ideas flopping will make them change course but bfa is going to do a lot of damage to the lore.

At least it didn't end with Illidan standing up shouting "Argus is FREE~~~~"

I don't agree that this cinematic defined who Sargeras was.
