Doesn't look like any Allied Races are in 7.3.5

Over on the official site there's a post in the PTR forum. Lore states that the patch is focusing on the level scaling mostly. However, he also states that datamining sites will see things that aren't implemented yet and are set for BfA, like Allied Races. That seems to go against the hope that 7.3.5 would contain the 4 revealed races already, saving the last two for the expansion.

They already said there would be a quest to unlock them. At the very least, they're not going to put significant content in the next patch after Antorus. I'm happy with waiting for the expansion.

It will contain them. There were leaks saying they'd be out before BfA and they're currently turning up int he Alpha.

Also, it doesn't make any logical sense for them not to be.

If they're released with BfA, players will have to either ignore them while they level and check the new zones, or they'll ignore the new zones and level the new race they want. Neither is ideal.

If they're released in a patch before BfA it will keep players entertained and they can spend time levelling up their new characters in the wait until the next expansion (and keep paying a sub for this time)

It is not said that allied races won't come in 7.3.5 or some time thereafter. It is only said that they are part of Battle for Azeroth - meaning allied races are not patch content, but could still become available during 7.3.5 for those who pre-order the expansion.

Check out the new PTR achievements - the 4 heritage sets are earned at level 110. The leak that has been 100% correct so far predicts allied races in 7.3.5. And why is the levelling system being revamped now? All of our information suggests that allied races are coming, and that's only sensible.

Ive never understood why people think that they'd take one of the only really new features that we know of, one that's been asked for as sub races for a long time... and give it to us now and as part of the expansion that they want to sell.

I'm not entirely sure Lore's post proves or disproves anything. He simply states that they will see bits and pieces that are part of BfA. There's no reason for Blizz not to cover themselves here and state something like this, particularly if their plan is to release them a bit after 7.3.5 goes live (in case of bugs, wanting extra time, etc). All he's doing is managing expectations until marketing decides when they truly want these new races released.

Because they want people to keep playing (and paying) for a year until the next expansion and new content is out.

They look set to go from what we've datamined. Blizz can say all they want, but it looks like it's a matter of flipping the Allied Race switch, not finishing them.

    Could just be behind pre-order?

Legion really spoiled the playerbase beyond measure...

Why would they release the races obtained through BfA content, in a filler patch to Legion...?

And yes, Kultiras & Zandalari, just like Pandaria days. Trust me if you want, we'll see CG next week.

Also to add reliability, which you probably all know, four new sub races are coming 7.3.5, not in expansion.

I don't think they'll be playable but this is the ground work, once that's done all they have to do is flip the switch. If this was truly BFA content then they could of easily put this in during the prepatch, I assume they'll simply use them as a early access pre-order bonus for BFA.

  14. #14
They'll certainly be playable before 8.0, but that doesn't mean it will be just after 7.3.5 release. Most probably, they will either flip the switch at a later date, or throught some sort of 7.3.X patch.
    Whatever...

The sub races exlcuding Zandalari and Dark Iron will probably be in the 8.0 pre-patch since those two require completing some story on Zandalar and Kul'tiras, but the others require completely story in older zones.

But I don't think they will release such an important new "feature" of the next expansion in the current one. Will probably require you to pre-purchase BfA or something to unlock races once subs go down 6 months into Antorus.

They will be available through pre order before the expansion drops. Just like Demon hunters.

Of course allied races won't be in 7.3.5. BFA would lose 50% of its content if that were the case.

Yeah, you know except for the new zones and storylines, the new dungeons, raids, islands, battlefronts...

So, the focus of the patch is on the new leveling experience, but they're not giving us the new things to level?

  20. #20
It only makes sense to make them accessible somewhere down the road in 7.3.5. The reason why is pretty simple; if you introduce these when BfA hits, then players will spend time leveling these new allied races instead of leveling through BfA's new zones from 110 to 120. In this regard, they'll have them released in a way that lets players have their new allied race character(s) ready to go and at level 110 before BfA comes out.

The Dark Iron and Zandalari will be out during BfA as unlocking them is tied to Kul Tiras and Zandalar respectively.
