What are the chances that the Horde win this war?

I've been thinking about this, and it is very clear that the Horde is in a huge disadvantaged.

    1. With the Siege of Orgrimmar, the orcs are not anymore the most powerful army on the Horde.
    2. The lightforged Draenei have a friking spaceship, with the power of the crown of the Triumvirate. And they have advanced technology.
    3. The Alliance have Malfurion, Tyrande, Velen, who are really strong by themselves, and Anduin, who apparently have super strength, and none of the Horde leaders have that kind of power.
    3. Nightborne no longer have the nightwell, so they lost their capacity of being a strong addition to the Horde.

So, how do you think the Horde will manage to not being destroyed in the first patch?

P.S. Sorry for the broken english.

    1. With the Siege of Orgrimmar, the orcs are not anymore the most powerful army on the Horde.Lip service given to placate Alliance fans not happy with saving the horde from Garrosh. Their 'weakened state' has not and will not matter.
    2. The lightforged Draenei have a friking spaceship, with the power of the crown of the Triumvirate. And they have advanced technology.Just like Dalaran in MOP this won't ever be actually used against the Horde directly even if we see some LF draenei npcs fighting.
    3. The Alliance have Malfurion, Tyrande, Velen, who are really strong by themselves, and Anduin, who apparently have super strength, and none of the Horde leaders have that kind of power.Like they're going to put Velen and Malufurion into the faction war in a big role. And it's not like the Horde lack strong characters.
    3. Nightborne no longer have the nightwell, so they lost their capacity of being a strong addition to the Horde.Doesn't mean they're pushovers.

Is the horde going to win? No. But nether is the Alliance. They'll get some shots in back and forth then we'll have to work together against Azshara or N'zoth or something. Or we'll have a Garrosh 2.0 situation.

The problem is there are a TON of extremely strong heroes, technologies, devices, magic and other "I win" tools that blizz casually ignored to create the BFA conflict.

    On the alliance side,

Vindicaar is the biggest one which I assumed was going to get destroyed in Antorus or powered down in a way on the way back to Azeroth at least but based on the cinematic, blizz didnt even give a flying fuck about it.

Malfurion and Velen's power levels are ridiculous but on top of that there is also "anduin" destined to be the OP hero of the light + 2 more additions of Turalyon and Alleria now who are also op.. They also have immortals/demigods/wild gods on their side by association with certain characters in alliance as well.

Jaina is an extremely powerful magic user.. Although recently her status went up to godlike status, we haven't actually seen her magic in action very often. She does have access to extremely strong artifacts in her arsenal as well.

    On the horde side,

    - We don't really know much about lifespan of orcs, how fast they reach adulthoold/maturity and pregnancy rates/speed so hard to comment on how fast they can recover but with the addition of allied races + all the expansions, there are also a ton of orcs that can resupply the horde from both Outland and WoD.

    - Horde has the sunwell, which is one of the strongest sources of power on the planet at the moment. I am surprised there isn't more mention of this or how it is not constantly sieged by naga forces, undead, demons etc.. for control.

    - On a large scale war, realistically alliance has no chance just based on the sheer size of the horde races. I mean come on have you seen the muscles on those orcs? A tauren can probably punt a dwarf away.. And these are not body builder humans that have video game weaknesses or have slow speed/reactions. These are agile warrior races that are built that way. It is silly to compare numbers on either side when there are massive size differences + it is a fantasy game where a gnome can kill a tauren by stabbing its toes.

    - There were some OP machines that orcs were using in SOO that I am assuming horde still has access to that technology, + the whole of goblin race. Although allies have gnomes on their side to counter it too. I found it extremely silly that people were amazed by the BFA cinematic when 2 armies on foot were clashing and footman were rolling wooden siege towers (Lol?) when they have access to spaceships, tanks, siege engines, catapults, lasers, etc etc.. Looked extremely bad to me. + no random foot soldier number 23413221 is going to charge a banshee that just killed a dozen people by screaming to death. Realistically a 2018 faction conflict would be fought by champions/heros and amazing tech/magic on an extremely condensed small scale

+ Thrall is on the horde side the most powerful shaman on the planet (or used to be.. probably can be again? who knows with blizz writing)

    - Zandalari are joining the horde, once part of the most powerful empire on the planet and rivaled the elven empire! It is strange that allies are getting kul tiras, a small human kingdom with not much else other than ships and soldiers to bring compared to one of the most ancient empire on the planet with magic, and resources that we might not even know about + freaking dinosaurs!

Both sides have some strong "I win" tools and game ender cards in their pack.. It is very hard to have a realistic faction war this far in WoW game with far expanded powers and abilities.. Malfurian can make the very nature rise up against them the whole forest will destroy an army marching through it. Thrall can cause an earthquake that will swallow an army or level a city. Jaina can drown whole zones in water, vindicaar can ion cannon the entire defenses of undercity and leave it open for a siege. BE's can use sunwell to summon unimaginable power to destroy or heal etc etc. There are ton of other characters, technologies, artifacts, and magic that can do similar things as well.

The question shouldn't be but there aren't enough orcs now, the question should be, but how do we even avoid M.A.D in an all out faction war at this point.

P.S - not even gonna get into the fact that humans have been suffering major losses since the early RTS games to orcs, demons, undead, and more but there seem to be endless amount of them running around still. although it has been hardly enough to grow 1 generation since then.

That spaceship belongs to the normal draenei, not the lightforged. Damn it! I know it got yellow crap all over it.

If any faction "wins", it won't have an effect on the game world. It'll just be a cutscene and some quest text.

Regardless, the expansion needs a villain for the final raid, which both factions will share, so I'm expecting them to drop the AvH theme pretty quickly.

Well... i rely on the fact that they can't just exclude a whole faction full of players from the game.

The faction are going to have a vile war, fueled by false flag attacks by old gods followers.

Eventually the player characters will realise it, but the factions themselves will be too entrenched in the conflict to pull out and quiet down.

So we will work with a neutral questgiver (Magni, Khadgar) until either :

we defeat the big bad guy (Nzoth) as a neutral force and reveal it's actions for all to see, ending the conflict (but bitterness remains and the conflict could reignite in another expansion)

    OR

we go on a mission to show our evidence to the factions, forcing them to work together reluctantly to save the world

    OR

the Nzoth threat becomes too big to be ignored, forcing them to work together reluctantly to save the world

There, sorry for spoiling the next 3 years of World of Warcraft. You can fill in the specifics as patches are announced.

Win not high like 0% like the Alliance aswell. (for gameplay reasons)

But to get Kalimdor i would say pretty high like 95%.
Garrosh took care of Theramore and without the Night Elf stronghold there is rly nothing left anymore to stop us clean out Kalimdor.

The power level definitely seems to sway toward the alliance if we stack all the "potential" powers available to either side right now, but on a pure army vs army level, the horde should crush the alliance in sheer numbers and fighting strength.

If the cinematic is suppose to be a legit faction vs faction victory for alliance, they are really downplaying the horde's military might. Especially considering that Forsaken, Tauren, Orcs and Trolls (no belfs?) are present in the cinematic which indicates the Horde have gathered their forces and prepared to defend and not that the alliance just show up randomly and surprise the Forsaken...

If alliance have so much power on hand, but can also just win a straight up military conflict.... the horde are fucked?

So, logically, the allied Races are a massive Win for the Horde.

The Alliance currently stands head and shoulders above the Horde in military power, magical might, and technology of war. They've got bigger guns and more of them on every front, this is due in large part to the events of the Cataclysm, wherein the Horde was having serious issues after WotLK, and Mists of Pandaria, where a significant chunk of the population was killed by the -rest- of the population along with the destruction of massive amounts of materials and assets spent making Orgrimmar even harder to conquer.

In WoD and Legion, the Horde is, economically and militarily, a falling world power.

But as BfA stirs up, the Alliance is getting access to the Army of the Light (Which is to say another set of Draenei whose numbers are not enormous by any stretch of the imagination) and the Void Elves (which are a splinter group of the Blood Elves who are the remains of a splinter group of High elf survivors of a Scourge attack who didn't follow Kael/Illidan in Outland). They're powerful, sure. But their numbers are few, and neither has control of significant natural resources, so they'll be a drain on the Alliance Economy even after they get settled in on Alliance Lands.

Meanwhile the Horde secures Suramar's massive population as one of the largest Capital Cities in the entire world, alongside the Highmountain Tauren, which include the Skyhorn, Rivermane, and Drogbar. Not only is this a massive infusion of potential soldiers, but Suramar is one of the wealthiest, if not -the- wealthiest city in the world, and Highmountain stands covered in fields and filled with ores.

Yeah, the Horde has a 0% chance of -really- winning 'cause there's no chance either side is -actually- going to win. But both sides are back on a more even footing at this point, which is a pretty nice change of pace! That said, I hope it starts for something other than pointless Horde aggression and ends in something other than Alliance Benevolence in not crushing the Horde.

THAT would be a nice change of pace.

I don't think either side will really win, but at the end of the day the Alliance always "wins" because they are the more merciful faction and always spare the Horde from annihilation. The Horde would extend no such courtesy to the Alliance and then a faction would go poof and we all know that can't happen! :P

There will be no winners, it's all made for our entertainment no logic needs to be applied.

if you mean lore-wise, the Horde would never win. The Humans alone have a military as strong as all of the horde combined. Add to that the Nelves, Gnomes, Dwarves, Gilnean and Draenei forces and you're looking at a number disadvantage impossible to overcome. Add to that the fact that 50% of the Horde controlled territory is literally barren land with no real use or resources to harvest and you're looking at an even bigger disadvantage. And I'm not even counting the draenei having a space ship with lasers (and the know how to MAKE those lasers).

In game, no one will win, they will trade even just so fanboys on one side or the other dont go crazy about how "Blizzard only cares about the Alliance/Horde!!!11!"

    .

Blizzard already said during MoP that if there was an all-out war the Alliance would crush the Horde without much problem at all, it's only because of gameplay reasons that this hasn't and will not happen. The dialogue they gave Varian after defeating Garrosh, when he said 'we will end you', was put their for a reason - because if they wanted to, they could.

Neither faction will win. We're gonna end up fighting and in midst of our squabbling the Void will take advantage like they did with the Sha and fuck us both.

If Blizz does resolve this war, Horde will no doubt lose. There's way more indicating Sylvanas is evil than anyone on the Alliance.

they did this almost perfectly in legion. but will be hard now since is basically horde vs alliance, they at least need to develop horde to be killed
