    I maxed around 225, I always had form issues when catching the bar in a squat. I can actually Clean and Press more weight than I can Clean and Jerk.

    Right because people in the gym after a day at work are trained professionals.

    Easy way to injure yourself. Use lower weights instead if you must jerk.

    Only 165lbs. I was learning and was super impressed with that at the time.... then I youtubed "165lbs clean and jerk" and a young girl was able to do it with ease. I was able to just clean a lot more though, it was the jerk that I struggled with. You can really tell when you hit it with perfect form because the weight just flys up. My trainer ended up quitting training people to focus on his masters and I ended up switching to a body building style of training with a new trainer.

    you train because you want to improve. the more you train the more weight you can and want to handle. that is what mall security was asking... how high people have managed to progress, not "if you went into the gym right now, having never done an olympic lift in your life, how much could you clean and jerk?"

    You can train and improve without risking your spines health as well.

    At least post a video of a real athlete doing a Clean & Jerk and not a crossfitter. Post something from Lü Xiaojun, Hossein Rezazadeh or Liu Chunhong

    Your triceps are more the limiting factor than your wrists in the clean position. I used to spend a lot of time stretching and rolling out the tricep.
