I wonder at what point this became a troll thread. We just can't have nice things around here I suppose.

Public alternative school teacher teaching social studies and science.

I like it most of the time, but given I'm working with at risk kids who've already failed out of high school there are days when their lack of concern for themselves and their future is trying. The drama days -- which seem to be more frequent around the holidays thanks to family issues -- are really a drag, too.

But, you get the kids who are determined to get back on track, and it's a thing of beauty.

Which are worse than the men in black. Esp. Polar Bears. Nasty, aggressive creatures, unafraid of humans. Just go for your walks with bear spray and a .44 Mag or 10mm sidearm.

The lynx cubs are so cute!

There are many parts of Alaska where the winters are extremely brutal and you can go months without any sunlight. Good reasons why a state which is larger than Texas, has such a small population. :P And the deaths from firearms there is pretty high per 100k pop. I would imagine a lot of those are from suicide however. No thanks.

Probably but being born in Minnesota, one of the things I have always loved about the great north is while it is beautiful, if you don't respect it, it can kill you, frostbite and hypothermia are a thing, but honestly if you grew up in it or at least for me, survival is a second nature.

Montana is also a great place to own land, and pretty much do a lot of what you want, it really like many things has to be what you are looking for because you know who you are.

You won't figure that out later. I'm odd in that I don't like big population places, regardless to weather. I like Montana, Wyoming and Alaska because it cheaper per acre, and if you want to build you can pretty easily, too.

Good luck. Just remember to wear your tinfoil hat. lol!

My son loved it in Montana and plans on retiring there when he gets out of the Army. He got his Master's degree at the University of Montana. But all of those states are mild compared to Alaska.

Equipment operator for a major international 'members only' retailer. Forklifts and Triple jacks are fun to drive around all day. Great benefits and comfortable middle class income from it. Damn sure cant complain!

I am not a survivalist, I am not moving their for end of the world kind of nonsense, I am not afraid of whatever the hell else, I just Love Alaska because it's beautiful, I love the snow and winter months more than any other. I also like the idea of doing my own thing on my own.

Montana is beautiful also, but again, I think long game, I can raise a family build in Alaska, and if all else, I can leave whatever land I own and donate it back to the parks so they stay protected, and perhaps a resources for the local environment if I am no longer around or maybe even Kids didn't want to.

Wyoming would be a close 2nd for retiring, the only thing that kind of sucks that once I take flying lessons this spring who knows, if it's possible to buy my own little plane or maybe have a landing strip Alaska might also be easier for that.

I'm a biomedical scientist in a hospital lab. I run blood work, urine/feces samples, prepare cytological/histological slides and a whole lot more. What I love about my job are the night shifts. During the nights there are 2 of us in the lab and we only do the most baseline tests for the ER, ICU etc. so you end up with a whole lot of downtime where you can play wow and watch tv while getting paid to do it.

I live in a very small country so nights can get very quiet in the hospital.

worked in Motorsports for 25 yrs (IRL, CART, ALMS Indy Car, NHRA blahblah) and now my uncle and a friend who worked with me me on several teams now build hot rods and Rat Rods which is cool cuz it isn't like a Job job .

That being said as anyone who owns their own small bussiness can tell you, it is not all roses and can be scary at times (like Ca having us put in a paint booth and reclaim ect that cost us 40k or they would start fining us some outlandish fine daily (we paint 3 or 4 cars a yr max and VERY responsible with our waste and containment/filtration but you know, to be up to "code" grrrrr). For the most part though it works out great for us and our families
    Just because I don't care does'nt mean I don't understand

I know the voices in my head are not real BUT they have some REALLY good ideas

It's an important job and your children will benefit. You're fortunate you have the opportunity, many couples couldn't swing a single income.

No that's me. I'm a soldier. Specifically I fly attack helicopters. I love flying, feel honored to be a part of this institution, and the people around me are top notch. It is tiring and stressful though. Sometimes I wonder if I'm a bit masochistic because I've never made a choice that allowed me to kick back and relax for a while. That does sound nice.

I work at a call center for a credit card.

It's pretty "meh." Good work environment. Mostly just boring. Occasionally you get some fuckhead who's super pissed about something though. They're good for a laugh.

No, no matter how much you scream at me, I'm not waiving your annual fee. Next time, don't apply for a card with a fucking annual fee. Moron.

I'm also in the Air Force as a load planner for an aerial port squadron. I decide where the cargo goes on the airplane.

Sales Advisor at a retail company in the UK. Used to work on Store Collection but been purely Travel Money for the last eight months or so. Pay is minimum, there's high pressure on those who work in the bureau not to cause any discrepancies with threats and due to that I want out. Right now it's fine but come summertime it's absolute hell with permanent queues from shift start to end and there's little support because barely anyone else can do it in the store.

Requested to move back to my original area as I never wanted to work all my hours in the bureau. Been at this place for over two years now, most of the people are great, but there's little socially, the hours are all over the place and the pay is simple. Having spent two years at College and four at University getting my MArt, I want to move on to something more fulfilling.
