    Balance nerf....Wax and Wane

    Druid
    Balance
    Wax and Wane (Artifact trait) damage bonus per stack reduced to 6% (was 25%).
    Lunar Strike damage increased by 8%.
    Solar Wrath damage increased by 8%.

    Am I the only one who does not understand the point of nerfing Wax and Wane that hard ? ?
    I can see it being nerfed a bit, but damn... I don't get blizzard that want to nerf our dps while moving that much.

    It wasn't an intended playstyle and they wanted to make sure it was not gonna stick around. In the end if you are using Lunar Strike and Solar Wrath over Moonfire spam the damage difference will most likely be negligible

    It wasn't better tho and if they wanted memefire to be over, they did not need to nerf the trait by 75%.

    If you aren't using memefire you won't be spamming moonfire which means the trait is basically negligible except for movement.

    What's the impact of the change for boomkins in high M+s? Will OI/IFE now be preferable over LatC?

    I believe they are doing sims now, most likely go back to the old spec I am guessing. The changes are overall near neutral for single target.

    No reason you have to use the same legendaries all dungeon, and you use shoulders for the extra global saved + 20% moonfire damage, not because of Wax and Wane.

    Shame I never managed to get a T21 helm in order to try out the 4pc T21 + RM combo

    Those sims are for patchwerk fight. My issue with the nerf isnt the patchwerk overall dps. It's the fact that this is a nerf for fight that require lots of movement where we could spam moonfire to help our dps. Nerfing it to 15% would have met their goal and not have been a nerf to the ground. Blizz don't like to meet us halfway, always had to overbuff or overnerf for some reasons.

    Since when is spamming a single button mindlessly (for the most part) considered fun and engaging gameplay?

    Not as big of a nerf as you think. It's not a significant decrease if you press Solar Wrath or Lunar Strike instead. As for movement DPS, you should make use of Stellar Drift.

    Right... since when do we have 100% uptime with starfall on single target ... my comment is about all the movement when starfall is not present obviously enough.
    It is an even bigger nerf in aoe since we spam our dots on multiple targets which means that every application is nerfed and the solar wrath and lunar strike don't help that dps at all.

    I kind of enjoyed the moonfire spam on AoE fights.

    I don't mind the nerf to fix the gameplay but the buffs to ST should have been far more substantial than an 8% buff to fillers.

    So here's the deal with that change:
    - It's a killing of Memefire completely.
    - It's a decent/substantial nerf to 2+ target AoE. On AHC for example, this is about a 5% DPS loss for one of my latest logs (the 8% buff to SW/LS is negligible in comparison).
    - It's about neutral (a bit positive) on ST fights with low movement (Varimathras).
    - It's a neutral to NERF on high movement ST. The 8% buff was NOT enough of a recuperation to make this mostly neutral since it's a loss to mobile DPS (where you'll likely be spamming MF if you can't be in range of the boss for SF's Stellar Drift, or you're caught off guard and don't have enough AsP for it).

    So yeah, it's a pretty shit thing that didn't need to happen and TBH, they should just replace the trait entirely since it's now back to a like 0.1% or less DPS trait on ST like its original iteration was (which was why it was so massively buffed in the first place).

    TL;DR: This nerfs us in every aspect outside of low-movement ST fights and it's bull this affects more than just Memefire. Should replace the trait with something better-and-less-problematic while also buffing something that recuperates the AoE loss a bit.

    Balance was way op in m+ currently though. We always needed a 3rd dps for our 22-24+ and we tried many chars (affli, mm hunter, fury warr, monk). Monk and boomkin were the strongest dps, but boomkin has stronger utility. Also much more burst than affliction.

    A nerf is fine. I wonder why they dont touch affli which has been dominating since T19/Nighthold.
