New players can play other all of the standard race/class combos like the rest of us have been for years. If they want to play the new ones they will unlock them the same we have. I don't see an issue.
I find it baffling that people fell for the " 6 new races" thing honestly.
Using existing models and changing skin tones + adding some sparkle here and there doesn't change much tbh.
Now instead of revamping the models in the future they'll end up releasing some new "allied races" for the other races to squeeze more money out of customers and add some random time waste to get you to pay more just so u can unlock the thing that should have been given to current existing races freely.
Eh, worth mentioning that most of those quests are designed to be done from 1 - 50 (a little over half of those actually) with 100 quests between the end of that portion and the first expansion. Which then has another set to go from 50 - 60 (and you are likely to be around level 51 or 52 by the time you start) followed by about 50 - 70 quests between that and the current expansion.
So yeah, the 450-ish main story questline is mandatory to go through to get to the expansions, but a majorty of it is also leveling content and does a fairly good job at that anyways. (Although the 100 quests between ARR and HW was a slog to work through and a bit of a dip in story quality.)
His point stands, the Nightborne and Highmountain quests can also be considered part of the leveling content. By the time you finish those you are already Honored or Revered, and it only takes a little bit more effort in doing World Quests to reach Exalted.
The only semi-legitimiate complaint is about the Void Elves and Lightforged Draenei where most of their unlocking process is grinding world quests and getting rep tokens from Order Hall missions. It's nothing major to current players, as most should have exalted with all four allied races.
When we looked at the relics of the precursors, we saw the height civilization can attain.
When we looked at their ruins, we marked the danger of that height.

Highmountain can. Suramar... not. It was a Level 110 only zone. So you have to do old endgame contest, to unlock a feature of a newer expansion. And yes, same can be said about Lightforged and Voidelves.
I just think it is weird, to bind new content on old content, that is essentially not relevant anymore.
Only issue with the Suramar quest line are the time gated stuff still in there. At some point you need to do Suramar World Quests and of course you don't have enough on the map, and another one you need to do 5 missions if I remember.
They would have to remove those to make it possible to do it one shot.
But the case of returning players, they won't have flying, so this is going to take a while. But it's their own damned fault, people who actually play the game and don't quit should have advantages in this game, that's an incentive for keeping your sub.
I still bet my ass those requirements will be removed. Feel free to quote me when this doesn't happen once BFA launches
Argussian Reach rep is a pain to get and is required for Void Elves.
They really need to add more WQ's for the around Argus :\
There is a thin line between not knowing and not caring, and I like to think that I walk that line every day.
I'm rather more salty that the horde get 2 decently fleshed out races with quite alot of backstory vs the alliance's random elves and even more stuck up draenei.

Those who do not stand with the Forsaken stand against them. And those who stand against the Forsaken will not stand long
I Just did unlock 3/4 from scratch for my gf (don't ask why) and can easily say that the void elves is the worst to unlock. They are locked behind a few time gated worldquests.I have been doing all reputations needed for flying and allied races every day. While i have reached to get flying, all broken Isles reps to revered, NF and Legionfall to exalted, i am still Just 4 bars revered with Argussian Reach. They have alot of fewer quests / wq's than army of light. Horde are for sure the lucky ones here.
This is what makes the Nightborne feel that much more special than the rest of them, they have a really well covered backstory that you yourself get to be a part of. They even have an entire "home city" and zone, granted it's hostile as all hell but it's there to add a fuckton of depth to the race compared to the others.
