If you take my cells and make me a new kidney identical to mine, you have cloned my kidney. Cloning does not require that you create an entire identical organism. You can clone a single cell.

And even if not, you could do always do it with only a rudimentary nervous system. Not that it's really a concern as any concern about cloning a human applies to cloning an animal, unless you're a religious nutjob... and religious nutjobs shouldn't be listened to in reference to just about anything. Yes, same with AI and so on. Although I wonder, what things are not disclosed. I am pretty sure there is plenty even less ethical research going on and not only in China.

China trying to pull a fast one on the US. Monkey on the left has different hair and a thicker stache.

    Why lie, China? Why lie?

... yes, yes it would. That’s literally the point of doing it.

There is no ethical concern with the advancement of technology used for the betterment of the human race.

    It explicitly is.

Organism cloning is just one KIND of cloning. It is not the entirety of the discipline.

I am all for human cloning. There isn't anything "ethical" about being a backwards moron.

Think about this, marxists have mad a bigger problem to humanity and cloning might be the best option to cure it.

Sean Bean should start a company where he clones rich people like Scarlett Johansson and Ewan McGregor to harvest their organs for when they get sick.

Last I checked, most human organs lack sentience.

If we are going to clone, can we at least research into something more useful? Like organs, and livestock, or research into a type of corn that'll last a little longer in the heavy rain.

I don't see any ethical problems - it would just get too weird if we started cloning humans IMO. Now stem cell research / organs / etc - by all means go for it

Last thing we need is more people on this planet so i hope they stay away from cloning humans.

Do you think we should research cloning monkeys and perhaps eventually even humans?
Yes. Ethics is made up shit. The only thing that matters is the progression of our knowledge. Human life is neither sacred, divine or costly. It's cheap and no different from the other temporal organisms on this planet waiting out the heat death of the universe.

    Platitude overload.
Knowledge and progress are just as made up as ethics. And matter exactly as much when facing the heat death of the universe.

Trying to see a reason why cloning humans would be bad/wrong, and I'm drawing a blank. Only inconvenience I can see is identity problems.
