    AMD equivalent Puppy build

Anyone have a current best bang for under $600?
Have a friend that specifically wants AMD and I have not been following close enough to do a quick build

While I'm not against getting that CPU, you need to make sure you have the latest bios on it for the CPU to work because you can't flash it without CPU.

You really don't have to with Windows 10. You can install Windows 10 on any system and if you don't have a key it just disables a few features (like backgrounds).

You can install an insider preview build for free and be completely "official" too with all the features.

You should consider the new AMD Ryzen 2400G. It's an APU. While the graphics isn't at RX560/1050 level, it's certainly acceptable and a good starting point. A fancier graphics card could be used later. It will basically give you a 4/8 CPU with GT1030 level gaming for $169 (processor).

Yes the new Ryzen 3 and 5 are good choices, and sometime in April the 2nd generation ryzen chips will be out.
So you can get a better deal on 1st gen or pick up the newest chip if you want.
