My current computer died. It's either the motherboard or the CPU. Not sure what one.
This gives me an opportunity to upgrade.
I wanted an opinion on the parts that I want to use and if anything should be switched for something else.
I mostly play games like WOW, Overwatch, Battlefield 1 and 4, Skyrim with lots of mods and a few others.
I know some of you will say to get the 8600K if I just play games but I want to stick with the 8700K.
My budged is around $1,000.
Some parts I will be reusing.
Here is a list of the parts I want to get:
1. CPU = 8700K
2. Motherboard = Asrock z370 Extreme4
3. CPU Cooler = NZXT Kraken X62 Rev 2
4. Memory = G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
5. Power Supply = Corsair - RMx 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
6. Storage = Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive AND Samsung - 960 EVO 1TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
7. Case = Fractal Design - Define R5 w/Window (Titanium) ATX Mid Tower Case
8. GPU = Zotac Amp! Extreme 1070
The parts that I can reuse would be:
1. GPU (Zotac 1070 Amp Extreme)
2. CPU Cooler (Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3) I do like the Kraken one though.
3. SSD (the ones listed)
4. Case (the one listed)
5. Memory (Vengence LPX DDR4 16GB) I do like the RGB ones though.
6. Power Supply (Corsair RM750) I had this for a few years and not sure if I should reuse it or not.
Any help on this setup and if I should change anything would be appreciated.
