Our former linebackers coach, who was also responsible for the red-zone defense game plan, Brian Flores will be doing pretty much all the DC work. He just won;t get the actual title yet.

Reason for that is apparently not cause Belichick doesn;t fully trust him, but to prevent him from having to do all the league mandated DC media stuff on top of his new duties as a DC. So he's basically being shielded a bit before having to do the media stuff. I'm guessing Bill won't have to do double duty, so this works out nicely for everyone involved.

Flores interviewed for the Arizona HC job, so he;s definitely a hot candidate in coaching circles, even outside NE.

Was thinking today of the futility of the Browns, and the unusual run for the Patriots, so I scanned their respective records. Cleveland has had 18 double digit win seasons in 70 years. New England has had 15 double digit win seasons in a row. Wonder what the odds would be for New England getting 19 in a row before Cleveland gets their 19th.

History tells us New England is capable of 18 in a row, but not 19.

Time for someone to email the commisioner of both leagues through their site that he needs to join us in this thread and give us a date at which point he wants to open the league again. Alae has not failed to show up yet in previous years, but he's been hard to get a hold of, so it's best if someone uses their access in the league to contact him.

    I...I don't get it.
It's an 18-1 joke, from when the Patriots went 16-0 in the regular season, then won 2 playoff games and lost to the Giants in the Superbowl cause of the fucking Helmet catch. Had they won the Superbowl they would have been 19-0.

    *goes and breaks something*

Boo hoo, you lost an additional Super Bowl out of the 8 you've been to in the past 17 years.

Not all wins are created equal. Going 19-0 would have been historic. Now it's historic for all the wrong reasons (from a Patriots point of view).

Matt Ryan got a new contract. 5 years, 150 million, 100 million guaranteed.

Hey when you can overpay for an above average QB who had one amazing year in 2016 and regressed back to his averages in 2017 you do it. As a Saints fan I thank the Falcons for hurting their future cap numbers so they can't surround him with the parts he needs to be good.

Lmao Matt Ryans regressed 2017 was not even close too all his fault.

He had like the lowest interceptable thrown balls, a lot of his interceptions were caused from bouncing off recievers hands. (Not to mention the thicc pick) We had the most drops of any team by WRs last year and we had a new OC.

He'll be better and the team will also this year.

Also the contract is like the same % of a cap, as his last contract.

But there is no (real) alternative. You can afford 1.8 Suhs, which is more meat for your buck or 50 or so minimum salary rookies; but in the end you can either pay an ideal age top 10, top 12 QB market rate or you can see him walk and weaken your team. *shrug*

Right and the years before 2016 weren't superstar quality either. He's had one great year. One.
