Bernie Bros Endorse Dennis Kucinich in Ohio Governor's Race

The Ohio governor's race is looking interesting for the Democrat primary.

Richard Cordray, a capable technocrat who was head of the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau from 2012-2017. Also close to Elizabeth Warren.

Dennis Kucinich, known for green policies and a troubled run as mayor of Cleveland. Also known making many appearances on Fox News, and expressing sympathy for Trump, Putin, and Bashar Al-Assad.

Why would Our Revolution, the Bernie Sanders-affiliated political action group, endorse Dennis Kucinich over Richard Cordray in the Democratic nomination for the governor of Ohio?

It’s extremely disappointing for Bernie’s people to endorse him, although I don’t think this reflects negatively on Sanders at all. He had nothing to do with it, at least to my knowledge. However, I think it’s interesting to consider this primary battle in terms of the different types of Democratic left that are emerging. Cordray and Kucinich are both in at least some ways, quite progressive candidates. So why this divide? Who is attracted to one or the other?

Maybe because Kucinich was on the bandwagon and spouting generic Bernie Bro garbage during the primary. So they have a sort of natural affinity with him.

So is this just a smear job or are you actually trying to discuss something?

Because if you are actually looking for information on this, it was really not that hard to find. THey have a website.

There's four links in the OP... not hard to find. The Our Revolution endorsement was pretty myopic. Kinda felt like they skimped on actually paying attention to what Kucinich has been up too currently.

Can't remember if I've heard about more ridiculous political smear campaign as "Bernie Bros".

Didn't Hillary win the primaries? I thought dwelling on a victory was a Trump team thing. Guess there are surprising similarities between Trump supporters and Hillary supporters.

Here's why, from your own link:

Elected to Cleveland City Council at age 23, Kucinich intervened to save parks, recreation facilities, libraries, fire stations, residential areas, and even Lake Erie from schemes and half-baked plans --- all in situations where others saw defeat as a foregone conclusion. His spirited, energetic approach emboldened him to challenge Cleveland’s entire political and financial establishment when it attempted to sell the city’s publicly-owned electric system, Cleveland Municipal Power (“Muny Light”), to a giant utility monopoly, which charged a great deal more for electricity. With the agreement of sale already negotiated and signed, Kucinich launched a David and Goliath issue-oriented petition and political effort to reverse the sale. The campaign catapulted him into the Mayor’s office as an independent candidate, defeating an incumbent Republican Mayor and the dominant local Democratic party.

Kucinich’s first act in office was to cancel the sale of Muny Light. Muny Light, though rescued from oblivion by Kucinich, became an issue yet again when the city’s largest bank demanded its sale to the same utility monopoly of which the bank was part-owner. The pressure to sell the electric system was extraordinary. Kucinich refused.

Kucinich’s refusal to sell Muny Light was vindicated, and his career resurrected, 15 years later, when the people of Cleveland recognized that by not selling Muny Light, Kucinich had saved the consumers millions of dollars. In recognition of his courage in refusing to sell, voters elected Kucinich to the Ohio Senate and then to eight consecutive terms in the United States Congress.
So... I guess that's up to you if that beats "Is close to Elizabeth Warren"?

Also, looking at where he stands on policies, he's pretty much in line with Bernie - up to and including legalizing weed.

...these links do not accurately say what you are saying. The link attached to "Sympathy for Trump, Putin" leads to a link about a bunch of talking FOX heads and kusinich only expresses his doubts about the intents of the meeting with Dumb-Dumb Junior believing the story that there wasn't an exchange of info about Clinton (he was technically right - but again, the issue there was the intent on the meeting that's the problem at that time. :P). There was nothing in there about "giving sympathy" to Dumbass Dump or Putin. Likewise, the other link about Al-Assad leads to it talking about him leading the FOX interview with Assad... there's nothing in there about him "Sympathizing with Assad."

Short version: You're deliberately lying to try to smear somebody. Stop it.

Ever consider that it's entirely possible that (gasp!?) the two candidates are actually very close to each other on the issues? Howsabout debating Dennis' policies that somehow differ from Cordray?
