I’m of the opinion that the key to success in life is understanding that academic qualifications do not equal success in life, nor do they ensure success in life. Nor are they key to success in life.

Most people (parents and teachers in particular) obsess about grades, degrees, name of the school/ college/ university etc.

There is a reason for this. Those people understand success as having academic qualifications.

You have a degree (preferably from a prestigious institution) - you are a “success story”. You are perceived as a successful young person who will become a successful adult. Guaranteed! And then you look here: https://jobofmine.com/ Or on the other job aggegators, and you see that nobody needs that paper. Innate ability, perseverance, vision and luck play a larger role in commercial success than a piece of paper describing which classes you have studied.
for most of people not having to do hard manual labour is already a win in life.

even if they earn less then people who do manual labour in the eyes of society they are still " winners"

so its natural that most of people main objective is to earn degree to get nice cozy offfice job - becauce even if technically it pays lets say 1/3 less per month is stil la win because you can spend X hours a day just sipping coffee and writing comments on lets say ... mmochampion while you are getting paid for it

and others thing - oh how hard he works typiing so vigorously
