I knew as soon as the question was answered that I had to come to this thread to see the amount of arrogance and spite on both sides and it does not disappoint. I don't care about high elves one way or the other but man is the drama fun to watch.

Alliance high elves literally already had that choice and chose not to accept the dark powers. It'd just be a retread of their story.

Possibly, but then again, Blizzard at least would finally make even the thickest High Elf fan understand that they are not becoming playable. Since this is their choice, and I respect it.

Honestly, have something REALLY bad happen to the High Elves -- something so terrible and tragic, that they literally have no other choice but join the Ren'dorei in the Void, or face a gruesome demise. It would only serve as potential character development for the two sisters Alleria and Vereesa, at the very least.

So High Elf fans, care to put some of that passion to work to try to promote the Snekbois for Alliance? I mean even if it was just a "no, we're not planning it for BFA" I'd be happy because then I could just ditch playing BFA and wait for the next expansion for news (I know it's sad but literally the ONLY thing keeping me wanting to play BFA is getting a race I actually have an interest in...since I have zero interest in the current crop of Allied Races).

High Elves
Blood Elves are basically High Elves. Slightly different eye color and backstory, but if you want to be a light skinned elf, that is basically a Blood Elf. Giving that to the Alliance would blur the line between factions.
There aren't a ton of High Elves out there in WoW.
If you are Alliance any want to be an elf, the Horde is there for you.

I've already updated mine. I liked my old one, but having the game director say it is a lot better.

I am extremely happy. This is not about denying them High Elves, over which they are undoubtedly going to be extremely sad right now, I am happy that the intrinsic logic of the faction wall has been respected, that the truth that Blood Elves are High Elves has been respected and that Void Elves are a compromise position for the Alliance that has been respected.

.... Faction Wall, you say? Void Elves are purple Blood Elves. Nightfallen are, pretty much, Night Elves. That Faction Wall is kinda shaky.

I have to admit I'm getting annoyed with blizzards response. If they really want to stop people asking for High Elves they should literally kill them off. Make a plot line where all them die or join the Void Elfs. It's kind of their own fault as they keep putting high elves at the forefront in the silver conclave and the windrunners sister as very noticeable forces from wrath to now.

not really. as ion pointed out, distinctiveness is something you can't ignore just because you wanna prove your point. When I see a nightborne, I don't see a nelf. When I see a void elf, I don't see a blood elf (well, one that hasn't been transformed by void).
