Official High Elf Discussion Megathread

You all have a point here tbh. It's true that Void elves used to be Blood elves, who used to be High elves. Largely a political matter. My problem though is that Void elves do not have any hair colors that even properly come close to those of a Blood elf/High elf. I don't even care whether people want to call Void elves as Void elves, or High elves. All I wanted was some light hair colors such as a white and a blonde. And I have also compromised with the blonde looking voidy, such as having dark blue starcursed highlights on it so people don't say we look exactly like Belfs. I think that would look unique and trendy.

I'd say it's more a desire for a more RL "human" range of coloration, not specifically Caucasian. I would like black hair to be an option for void elves, both because it seems like a hair color they should have have as void infused beings, and also because my character is based on an old D&D character of mine that was a half-elf with black hair and purple eyes.

"Caucasian" has nothing to do with my desire for black hair. And with the new skin tones added to blood and void Elves, having black (or brown) hair to go with the darker skin tones allows for non-Caucasian players to make blood or void elves that look like more like themselves. Blood Elves can currently do this since they have a broad selection of hair colors in the RL "human" range, but void elves cannot since they have no hair colors in the human range except for grey.

I think it's more of a critique that void elves aren't "human" enough.

That's you just projecting hon. We still don't even have a proper black hair color that suits the dark skin tones and actually looks black.

is it okay to incorporate the High Elf secret harbor near Stratholme in Classic into Mehlar Dawnblade's personal lodge? or perhaps into another High Elf outside lodge like Quel'danil and Quel'lithien?

basically we're brainstorming stuff in Warcraft 3 Re-Reforged campaign and I'm thinking of turning that harbor into a quest location of Mehlar

Mmm, I think that the Stratholme Harbor and the small high elf pier with the tower that you can find in WoW should either be the same location, or be pretty near. Could be used as a safe area that refugees have flocked towards. Maybe the He pier was a small trading outpost between QT and the human kingdoms -specially Stratholme-

I see. I was thinking of adding an extra quest to unlock Sorceresses since in that chapter they were just slapped in the game. Something like recover some runestone from Ogre Magi as a callback to the High Elven Druidic Runestone in WC2

Mehlar Dawnblade - Although the Order of the Silver Hand accepted non-humans within the ranks such as Dwarves, very few High Elves such as Mehlar chose to join the Order. Like the High Elven Silver Hand Priests and Kirin Tor Sorceresses, Mehlar chose to ignore the High Elven King Anasterian Sunstrider's royal decree for all High Elves to return home after he seceded from the Alliance.

Mmm, I was thinking, it's entirely likely Melhar was nearby Stratholme investigating the rumours, much like the elven priests we met in the human campaign, with his own group -remember that the priests we met during the campaign came down from Quel'thalas itself, so much like the Kirin Tor, Quel'thalas was also doing their own investigation to a degree.

That could help on the flavor text, also could be interesting his groups is seeking the runestone to lock the pass to the elven pier.

.....HAHAHAHAH!!! HAHAHAHAHA he literally posted the only 2 hairstyles (one of them being BALD) that exist in the game that look same (almost) to Blood elves just to prove a point!! You do realize we have a ponytail with a tentacle hanging from it that looks like a dick? And our hair colors are just blues and purples? Yea it annoys me man, and no I won't switch Horde just for that because it beats the whole purpose of Void elves even being in the Alliance. If they are not appealing enough for us to play them you might as well take them back in the Horde cause I'm really sick and tired of blue and purple hair. Point made.

For those who would just be content with black hair: You are damaging the high elf cause and the requests of many void elf and high elf fans. Stop compromising and encouraging limited additions to Void elves, or limiting them to very niche themes. From now on I will openly state my discontent to those who repeat they are okay with just black hair on void elves. No, black hair only is not ok. Black hair color in addition to white and blonde is ok, and that is what should be suggested. Void elves are not meant to be goth only, they are meant to have some voidy customization (not only) and be versatile. Limiting them to just blue, purple and black hair would be extremely boring and depressing and I know for sure I will either just play a different race in the Alliance if this continues, or Horde, or another game. But I will not stay and be depressed over a hair color, I would rather not play them at all.

do you want to give the void elves blonde hair? that is a completely valid wish! it is more I support the green eyes in the void elves because the silvermoon scholar in telogrus have green eyes, even so, I think that the colors should remain different between those of the blood elves and void elves so that they are not totally a copy. and blood elves need more distinctive customizations regarding void elves as tattoos

But it would not make sense for Void Elves to not get tattoos being that Alleria, their leader, has those options. Blood Elves can make themselves look like Lor'themar, their leader (blind eye/hairstyle and all).

So it'd be strange if Void Elves couldn't ever look like Alleria (braided hair/tattoos/feather accessories).
