They should habe inclusive speeches not mocking groups of their costumers. But this is the way ion interacts with the xomunity and blizzard chose him to do it, so blizzard must be prepaired for the pros and cons of having ion as their spokesman
He confirmed no High Elves back during Blizzcon in an interview with Jesse Cox yet the High Elf fans can't take no for an answer and just keep pushing, of course he's going to have to set the foot down at some point and state enough is enough. If you feel even remotely offended by what he said, I'm sorry but grow the fuck up.

As much as I'd like Void Elves to get such treatment, given that I believe HEs are not going to climb to the "all options are under consideration" yet again in the next 12 years (just quoting here the same amount of time that passed between the two major HE campaigns), and I definitely wouldn't want to wait quarter of a century to get anything out of a video game – this is exactly what Ion meant.

As you might imagine, we have a rather different point of view and preferences on this matter, you and I. Yet, Ion addressed specifically the appearance and classic theme of HEs that Blizzard is definitely not considering giving to the Alliance. Not the lore of the Silver Covenant, Alleria's Outland expedition or anything to that effect. He went out of his way to cite the "tall, blonde, strong and noble elf with blue eyes", whose image now belongs to the Horde.

In this context, giving Void Elves regular HE appearance would be the same as adding High Elves altogether. And we just learned their hard stance on the matter.
    Indeed.

While we do have different points of view, what is undoubtedly true is that my point of view has prevailed. I do not say that to be triumphalist, but to ask do you not feel it is time to let the High Elves go? Blizzard has clearly decided their fate in Warcraft, as a part of the Horde.

If you let the High Elves go, the Alliance can focus it's energies on other groups and races that they stand a chance of getting. It's hard for me to see other posters complaining about how the Horde gets everything it asks for , yet those same posters poured their energy into the pursuit of the impossible.

Oh, i would say nothing, if we would get the "healthy looking skin" he was talking about on blizzcon. It dont has to be the same, but at least a normal color for skin...

"If you are Alliance and want to be an elf, the Horde is there for you."

-.- The f*** Ion. Way to piss of your fans. I dont WANT to play horde...i dont like orcs, trolls and forsaken.

I like the Draenei model but accept that if I want to play Draenei, I have to join the Alliance.

What Ion has said is perfectly fair. If you like a certain race, you have to play the faction that goes with that race.

Nobody cares what you want, apparently. Even if it means losing your business. You guys have been begging incessantly for years, and someone finally tells you the truth in respectful terms, and most of you react like spoiled little children calling him names, telling him to be fired... all because you can't play a Blood Elf on the Alliance side.

How fucking petty can you lot be? Your lot wants to end this man's livelihood so you can playing a stupid fucking Elf that the Horde has had for over a decade? And you expect to be treated with dignity? Woooow. I really hope most of you aren't legal adults, because if you're 18 or over and this is how you react to not getting something you feel you deserve, the world has a HUGE surprise for you.

The high elf is dead announcement basically negates anything bad he said.

    Pandora's box has already opened.

The faction integrity should have died with Pandas but it didn't. Why? Players are generally smart enough to realize the lore surrounding the player-picked Pandas. We didn't need Blizzard to hold our hand and tell us who was the enemy to stab in a BG.

They did give a compromise but it was a rushed one. Barely any lore that made sense and that had been weaseled into the last of the expansion set. I can't fault players wanting high elves--if you're a fan of the lore you know their history and importance to the Alliance. Why bother wanting a void elf when you know that with ease Blizzard could finally give you a high elf?

They didn't make the actual model that distinct either. We already are use to having blue/purple races on the Alliance. More could have been done to further separate them while keeping the skeleton intact. I can almost bet that if they'd given more unique skin tones and a better chunk of lore a lot of QQ would die down.

Really not surprised. And neither am I surprised to see people saying that refuse to support a company like this - yet I can bet you anything they will carry on playing.

Also, that last image where they posted the picture of that lady... best choice they could pick I presume? >_>

Lol, cool? I don't really care if you respond to me or not. There's no constructive discussion to be had. Ion said you aren't getting what you want, and you're too immature to accept it.

Your entire campaign is ridiculous. I'm not obligated to respect someone who can't accept a simple truth. If I was being toxic and flaming you, I would have received an infraction like everyone else that posted in a toxic manner. Once again, saying your expectations and desires are delusional is neither toxic nor "flaming". Not my fault you feel offended.

RangerDaz will not, at all, be missed from my threads.

That would be fine and all of there weren't High Elves in the Alliance already. But there are, and they're representing the Alliance way too often to be ignored. Thus people want to play as them on the Alliance, where they see them.

If the Horde had a race that was mostly NPCs representing them in several in game events that had the only playable model on the Alliance, the Horde players would want to play that group, because they can see that group in their faction representing them. They almost did have that for years...they were called Goblins, and they worked for the Steamwheedle Cartel, and the Horde couldn't play them, as they were a neutral faction. But than, one day, Playable Goblins. And not many people play them.

You know by the way you write i probably guess that i have the age of your father. I dont need to grow up. I just dont agree about the way ion addressed the situation. Its a free speech forum and i have the right to say it. I believe he should have done it in a more professional way.

Ion's recent answer on why they did Void Elves instead of High Elves was so disappointing. First, his primary arguments against the introduction of High Elves was based entirely on visuals.... which tells me he doesn't even understand WHY players who want High Elves want them, which he proves even more by adding that, and I'm paraphrasing here, "Blood Elves are basically High Elves with green contact lenses, albeit with a different backstory". Well the reason why I and I would imagine most players want High Elves is BECAUSE OF THE LORE attached to them! I am not even an Alliance player, so I have tons of Blood Elves. I want them included because of the LORE and how strong their present is in Alliance and overall Warcraft lore. They are simply missing from the roster! And he goes on to argue that because of their visual proximity to the looks of Blood Elves, adding them would blur the line between the factions, but that argument is completely invalidated by the fact that they introduced the Pandaren for both factions. How is having another Pandaren-type race in a game that will now explode in terms of playable races through the Allied Races concept in any way a valid argument? I call B-S.

Promising to hear that the question about playable High Elves was one of the most asked questions though. It wouldn't be the first time Blizzard caves to player demands and reverses its previously held positions (like with Vanilla realms) if they eventually does on playable High Elves. So keep asking for it!

How do you think Blood elf fans would feel if the Alliance got high elves? Fuck you for wanting to steal our race.
