This thread proves that, unless the developers outright state 'HIGH ELVES WILL BECOME PLAYABLE AND THEY WILL BE THE BEST ALLIED RACE EVER, FORGIVE US FOR OUR SINS', these High Elves fanboys will never be satisfied.
Now, if you will excuse me, I will play my Alliance Void-tainted High Elf!
Basically if Blizzard could go back in time and knowing what they now know I very much think they would have put high elves in. It's just they made a bad decision and now they have to stick with it because putting high elves in now would just be too many blood elf models. So they don't apologise etc. they just put a brave face on and hope for the best. I am really hoping that they put more colour options in for void elves to appease everyone slightly, that would be wise. However watching Ion smirk through the q&a has left me thinking that maybe even that compromise is off the table.
Again, remove then from the zone, and tell me if it make difference to the story, or if the story goes different
they are totally irrelevant, and are there just because its a elf zone, you can't change that, same thing happened in isle of thunder, just a organization under the Kirin tor, and now under the night elves, who are the focus
the salty is strong in this one
Doubtfully. You have a version of Elves just as was intended - something modified. They feel they have solid reasons. A bit dishonest to think this was something made up without much thought, no? It was never about making an impulsive decision and suddenly "oops, we made a mistake". It's ok if for you, you don't feel it was a good one. But let's not grasp at straws.

You mean Blood Elf... Blizzard could have avoided this be having the Void Elves originate from Alleria and the High Elves (coupled with an Alleria model/skin).

This reminds me of playable Demon Hunters, faction transfers, etc.
Blood Elves are High Elves (as the director of the game clearly stated), Void Elves are Void-tainted Blood Elves, therefore Void Elves are also Void-tainted High Elves. You mean Blood Elf
In fact, I don't see why people are complaining. Void Elves are High Elves, you got your playable High Elves on the Alliance, why is this debate still going on?! I swear, some people are never satisfied.
come on, who are we trying to convince? the only problem is the color, no matter from where they came from.
except those are way different, i mean DH were never added, High elves yes, 2 times, a third is a stretchThis reminds me of playable Demon Hunters, faction transfers, etc.
How many times is this argument going to get rehashed? Seems like every time I check it, everything restarts from square one. Obviously Blood Elves are High Elves. When people say they want to play High Elves, they're saying they want to play the High Elves that didn't become Blood Elves and stayed allied with the Alliance, meaning the Silver Covenant or Alleria's followers in Outland. Whether you want those elves to be playable or not, whether you think they're viable now or in 10 years or never, at least argue that and not semantics all the time. It's just boring, otherwise.
No, no it is not. The problem with Void elves is that they are completely different from what made people want High elves.
It's like if someone wants Mag'har, and you give em Fel Orcs.
Still, Ion has made me lose faith in the team. If the creative director does not know the lore properly, what hope do we have?...Maybe that's why characters like Sylvanas and Garona keep having personality rewrites.
I'm just gonna hope for Vulpera now so I can at least be a cute fox.
I am also liking you more and more.
I'm not a fan of Void Elves existing, or Nightborne for that matter, and would have preferred the models remained unique to their respective factions.
However, I accept the compromise that they are intended to be, with their own unique story, flavour and identity and I am glad that there are some in the Alliance who have taken that compromise in the spirit it was intended.

But all the signs are that Vulpera will be added to the Horde if they are added as an Allied race...
It definitely is off the table. Or at least those colour options I think you are referring to. Ion didn't simply say "No", he also quickly explained the reason they don't want to add High Elves. And giving Void Elves regular fair options is something that would go straight against it as well.
The best you can hope is that they will give them updated male face structures and remove the duck faces as they are to do with Blood Elves. It will be stupid not to do so.
I am bewildered at the amount of over the top hardcore people who are still creating their forum topics, hoping that HEs would come, just not in BFA, may be in the next expansion, that Blizzard would see the demand and reconsider, etc. Seriously, it is not going to happen. Take your time to consider, relax a bit, log out or in, kill some BEs in WSG to cool off. Stop playing the game if it upsets you that much (I don't mean you personally, Roxxy, but rather those people in the state of hard denial). You will be just in for a disappointment.
HEs were in great demand ever since BEs reveal. Over the years, Blizzard's stance went from a firm "No, BEs are Horde, topic closed" (2005-2009) to "Well, topic could stay open for discussion on forums, they will just create another thread" (2009-2014) to "We are considering various options for the future" (2014-2017) to "Yay, Void Elves" (2017) to "No, that fantasy is Horde, topic closed" (2018).
See the timeframes? Yes, those matter.
That's not to say you will absolutely never be able to play fair skinned Elf on the Alliance, be it HE/BE/VE titled. Those could come due to various reasons in the future: the Alliace population dropping extremely low and in need of saving as the Horde's one once was, Blizzard dismantling the faction race wall altogether, WoW turning into some sort of a microtransaction "pay and get whatever you want" type of game, and the most unlikely of them all - the WarCraft franchise moving to another iteration that would allow faction reformation.
However, as you might imagine, all those are rather extreme changes that will, if at all, require a great amount of time to pass in order to occur. Point is, never say never indeed, but don't expect such development in the next 10-15 years. If the thought of eventually being able to play blond Alliance High Elf in 2032 gives you any comfort, by all means, go for it. I am not saying this in any derogative or mocking manner. Just save yourself the disappointment of hollow expectations you might be setting up in your mind.
And to end this on the joking side, hey, you are actually able to assure the implementation of AHEs in the game, and rather quickly on top of that! Yes, you can! But not by posting AHE part 89 topic. Go out there, get immensely rich, buy the controlling interest of Activision Blizzard, meet with Kotick, issue the directive for High Elven implementation in WoW pronto, enjoy. You will even get the added bonus of firing Ion, if you really believe for some reason he was mocking you, which he was not.
PS: I rarely participate in these forums, I think it would be nice for me to be a bit more active. It's a great chance to improve my English. Until then, apologies for my poor command of the language.
