Something diplomstic acknowledging the suggestions and still saying no while admitting his statement have some crotical flaws..hell he never even adressed and even REPEATED the issue of population wtfh how is that ok?

It is NOW a blatant lie given the backstory of VE. Everything he said has an in game counter. And by that i mean things they have done.

So, if Ion had said High Elves are coming they would have read the feedback. If the answer was as it is now, he wouldn’t have read the feedback.

You don't have to be obtuse on purpose. It's not a matter of "yes" or "no", it's a matter of why and Ion's response clearly indicates that he has never read anything about the debate. It's pretty obvious that someone claiming that people want majestic elves with blue eyes in Alliance because they saw Alleria in Legion has never read any of the actual requests and arguments.

In all other cases, the story and the model are inseparable. There is visual consistency among all playable members of the same groups. Kul'tirans have been culturally independent for ages, and the playable models are just a subset of the Kul'tirans in the game. The Kul'tiran models that are not playable for the Alliance, are already playable in the form of Stormwind humans, so there is no need for overlap. The Dark Iron model updates are just exaggerations to an already existing difference. They were already a distinct group, so there is no contradiction.

The high elves and the Blood Elves are exactly the same group of elves though. The story describes a direct relationship between the appearances of the two races. They are intended to be exactly the same apart from eye color. If they don't appear that way, it lowers the visual fidelity of the game. Those kinds of inconsistencies are jarring to players, because they represent a gameplay difference in a space that for the entire history of WoW has been reserved exclusively for illustrating the lore and story of a race.

I found a third race which I think better explains my point. Worgen. The way Worgen looked were incredibly different from their playable versions. Then they changed retroactively all the existing Worgen models in game, except maybe 1 or 2 npcs here and there did they not? And it wasn't something that took "ages of being culturally independent." Worgen still kept their "oh these are Werewolves" look but it was represented in an entirely different and unique manner than their former existing counterparts.

This is the route High Elves can take. They're not "Majestic Elves" which is what @Traycor was trying to explain. The game even plays this up with Elisande's comment. Their intermingling with "lesser races" (obviously humans). So we have differing themes already. They just have to be thought up in a way visually to represent that.

And the way Worgens got re-done allows High Elves the same potential.

Just because he is adamant on staying on "no" doesn't mean that he should not even read the requests and arguments about it when it becomes the biggest debate for 6 months. But even if he decided to ignore literally everything written about the topic after all, then he should form his answer appropriately - say no and why, without showing that you ignored everything. Instead, he went on about how people want High Elves and what they want about them, blatantly showing that he has little idea why they want them, and hence also showing that he thinks he knows what people want better than those people. The last thing is probably the root cause of stuff like gcd changes.

I understand what you're saying here, but there's a problem in the fact that Blood Elves already exist as a playable race. They're going to remain the same, and if the race that makes up their foundation shifts under their feet, they're no longer what they're meant to be. Blood Elves being simply high elves with green eyes is a binding relationship that cannot be avoided without a retcon.

1) All new playable races on one faction must be significantly different from the playable races on the other
2) Eye color is not a significant difference
3) Blood Elves are high elves with green eyes
4) Blood Elves are playable, and playable races cannot be changed

Then:
High elves cannot be playable.

That relationship is mathematically provable. If you could prove to Blizzard that one of those four statements is false, perhaps you would have had a chance, but this has all already been discussed. If you don't think Blizzard has considered it, I don't think you're giving them enough credit, especially after the Q&A. Seriously though, unless one of the first 4 statements is wrong, it's a literal impossibility.
