Ok. Let us assume that High Elves do have the chance of becoming playable in the future. Why didn't Blizzard just add High Elves instead of Void Elves during Legion? Then Void Elves could have been added later on in Battle for Azeroth and given a proper introduction.

It is strange that Void Elves fit the story now, considering that the main theme of this expansion is the faction war, not the fight against the Void. It would be like saying that Demon Hunters should have been playable in Warlords of Draenor... No, they shouldn't have, they didn't fit the story yet.
Oh, I am certainly not a pro High Elf or a Void Elf hater, in fact my point is to prove that, if High Elves were not added instead of Void Elves, it's most likely because Blizzard doesn't want them playable.

Story is one of the most important reasons for why I play games in general, so I'd prefer it to be good. I have no horse in the High Elf discussion, but just generally speaking in terms of WoW's overall story, and the smallers quests, I would rather Blizz stop treating its story/lore like a punching bag and shape up.
