There is no problem with High Elves. They are there, in the Horde.

Or you can just play Blood Elves.
Tell you what, give Alliance high elves. It'll shut those whiners up and it'll allow the blood elves to return to their TBC characterization when they weren't boring as sin.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.
Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.
How about no?
Void elves is what you are gonna get cause blizz wanted actual differences between the elf races.
High elves is never gonna happen and we all know its never gonna happen cause is been said countless, countless, countless, countless TIMES!!!!!
They could learn from Allaria who taught them how to change back, there, it's all stupid but cmon like is this really that much of a problem when looking at the other plot holes, like bringing back a corpse turned to ash by dragons kind of a plot hole?

Void elves that can only transform when out of combat back while still having voices in their heads telling them to kill everything is a pretty big difference.
I know that it was, but it still didn't stop the annoying demand, and Blizz having to say the same thing over and over and over, it will satisfy both sides.

lol there is no high elf debacle.
Horde has high elves, alliance has a faction of space emo high elves. Everyone has high elves.
Two wrongs don't make a right. And the issue isn't even one of Lore. It's one of Blizzard not wanting the same race being playable on both factions.
Cause High Elves are Blood Elves. And the Horde has playable High Elves.
At this point Blizzard should stop responding to something they've answered multiple times. Unless there are changes to announce, they shouldn't address Alliance high elves again.

It actually wouldn't, bc it ignores the entire issue of High Elves. It isn't that Blizz hates HEs, it's that they don't want them playable on the Alliance. That would be like the Horde getting Arathi Humans, bc they're so "politically different". What would truly end this would be to give BE characters an option for blue eyes. Then people can have that aesthetic, but its inline w/ Blizzard's philosophy on how they want the story/game to go. Basically the only way to truly cripple legitimate demand for HEs, is to destroy them lorewise (by death or improving relations w/ BEs) or to give any defining trait they have to BEs.
It'd piss people off, but I'm sure the majority of players would be happier the discussion is over.
Well since the lore will never be vastly improved, I failed to see how it could hurt anything, it would be all satisfactory for everybody, nobody is gonna give a shit about the void elves new training to change back appearce only, look at the Worgen, the player got infected and turned and five seconds later he could change back to a human form, no complaints there from anybody.

No. Having two races that are too similar on opposite factions is something Blizzard doesn’t want. It is why the Void Elves look the way they do. Even the Nightborne have been given plenty of differences from their NE skeleton.
They are too similar in appearance only, a temporary appearance.
Is a terminator to similar to human charachters because he has an outlying appearance of a human?

So were the High Elves in Warcraft 2 and 3. Playable units on the Alliance faction
The whole point of void elves was to give the alliance something close to high elves, but a bit different thematically and visually.
Giving them normal high elf options defeats the purpose. Worgen work because humans are already on the Alliance.
That's because Worgens change back into humans--which are an Alliance race. Worgens are also canonically humans/bastard druids (ignoring the NEs). That is entirely different from VEs reverting into a form that belongs to a race of an opposing faction. That's why this is an issue in the first place and why VEs were made instead.
Allow the BE to massacre them and survivors fully join the VE. No HE no problems
