WoW, this is something I didn't expect, there's still any other way left for Blizzard to spit on Alliance players?

Taking into account all that happened since BFA launched, I'm unsure.

Maybe Blizzard should just send a hate letter to every Alliance player.

I'm sorry for you guys. =/

If you ever thought Blizzard ever cared for the Alliance, anything that could make Alliance players happy, anything that would actually satisfy them despite being constantly shit on lorewise, gameplay, representation, fsction-specific features you haven't been paying attention. The Alliance faction is dying veeeery fast. Even more guilds and players go Horde now, they even target realms that already have a lot of Alliance->Horde migrant guilds.

This decision about High Elves, them actually daring to touch this very sensitive subject when they know it's probably the only big Alliance request, is just a nail to the coffin. But still unsurprising.

I'm impressed because they could've avoided it easily since there's plenty of colors out there that could've been used to give a wide range of options.

But the fact that they choose to add blue and many of its shades make matters worse. Sounds like they're intentionally trying to make a portion of their player base upset, and this is something that I really didn't really expect to see.

Well, Blizzard isn't the same anymore anyway.

They could have easily done a distinctly reddish purple and nobody would have cared or said anything about the High Elf issue. Ion lives to troll Alliance customers.

They just don't care about the Alliance playerbase, I wonder what they're gonna do once it's wiped out (even more). As for blue eyes on BE, these might not be final or might not be BE customizations after all but that doesn't change the fact that they really ignore or might actually hate Alliance players. After making an AR out of the Alliance's least played faction without being able to mog hands and legs(making them look like diapers if you're melee/non robe) , what can you expect lol.

You're right, I just thought that diaper gnomes were the bottom of the pit, now I dunno anymore where the bottom is.

Which is why they've literally written that the Alliance has won EVERY major entanglement with the Horde during World of Warcraft.

    Siege of Orgrimmar? Alliance.
    Stormheim? Alliance.
    Arathi Basin? Alliance.
    Darkshore? Alliance.
    Battle for Dazar'Alor? Alliance.

Also, the Alliance gets ALL of the OP characters. Any time the Horde gets one, they're mocked relentlessly as being unbelievable Mary Sues (Thrall, Sylvannas) when the Alliance LITERALLY HAS MALFURION STEWRAGE, JAINA SUEMORE, AND TYRANDE WHISPERSUE.

The *real* answer is that you guys don't get anything you want because you can't handle the downs that comes with the ups. For example, you can't have fuzzy foxes because you can't put up with literally being the villain for an entire expansion. Again.

So basically the Alliance gets cool background story victories while the Horde gets an immersive Warcraft play experience. That's 100% fair, yep.

Siege of Orgrimmar succeeded because Horde races (all races except for orcs) rebelled against Garrosh and the Alliance joined them in order to end this threat to both factions. The Alliance was branded a superpower after that with the threat of Horde ever messing up again that the Alliance would end them. Legion happens and the Alliance magically stops being a superpower because of casualties. So Horde messes up again and genocides on the NE anf burns their home to the ground. Guess what, the Alliance doesn't end them.

Stormheim was Genn chasing after Sylvanas. It was a personal vendetta, nothing about factions. Genn actually helped everyone (Alliance and Horde) by not allowing Sylvanas to control the valkyr. You can't call it an Alliance victory when Genn hardly got even with Sylvanas after she destroyed Gilneas and was the cause of his son's death. Did you think before you posted?

Arathi Basin and Darkshore are pity wins for the Alliance. Darkshore win was inevitable because having the Night Elves lose once again would be suicide material. Then again "op" Tyrande and Malfurion could not moonfire Nathanos from existence. So what's the actual win here? The elves retaking the land they had all this time? Do warfront victories really matter for their story? Would Arathi Horde victory make sense in Eastern Kingdoms which is the base of most of the Alliance forces? These are just insignificant pity wins.

Battle of Dazar'alor was the Alliance response to Teldrassil. The Alliance retaliated by attacking the Zandalari capital that allowed the Horde to make it their base of operations, without them actually joining the Horde at that point. So, instead of tidal waving Orgrimmar with the help of op Jaina, they go to Zandalar and kill their king (who was given the choice to submit if you play the Rastakhan fight as an Alliance member cause dialogue changes) without genociding the rest of the trolls (as Anduin commanded), then left hoping that their plan of making the Zandalari cut off the Horde would work. But the battle was the reason Talanji decided to join the Horde. It was the first thing she did after she became Queen. So what was the victory here? Mekkatorque going coma? Helping the Zandalari replace an incompetent king with his better heir?

Yes, we do have all the OP characters. What have they done? Tyrande and Malfurion couldn't kill an undead hunter. Most powerful druid and Night Warrior infused Tyrande (who should be the most broken thing ever) could not one shot Nathanos and all the present Valkyrs on the spot. OP Jaina was utilized for her teleports and had a badass comeback through flying ship arcane bombardment. But that's it, she didn't one shot the current Lich King like Sylvanas. What did Alleria do? Turalyon? Anduin? Velen? All those supposedly powerful Alliance characters. Nothing. While some others like Khadgar even went neutral. Others like Calia and Jaina's brother Derek went Horde to lead the Forsaken. What's the win here?

Not to mention the one hour of cinematic material focused on Saurfang and the Horde in general, resulting in our Alliance High King carrying his corpse into Orgrimmar. Tyrande should have seen this.

I shouldn't have wasted time posting this since you are gonna discard all these facts but whatever bere you go.

Unfortunately for those seeking them within the Alliance, the game is predicated on a two faction system, and the traditional high elf fantasy is now an intrinsic part of the Horde experience. Offering that to the Alliance devalues the divide between the two factions, and two strong, interesting factions are kept that way if they are kept distinct.
I'll use a simple analogy to show you why you completely miss the point of the High Elf request. If WoW was a WWII game, telling people who wants to play the Free French Forces (High Elves) to play Vichy France (Blood Elves) would be ludicrous. Yet, that's what you and other do, parroting Hazzikostas, who has demonstrated time and again that he neither understand nor care to understand the demands of Alliance players.

And, for the millionth time. Blood Elves were High Elves, but they have discarded this name and the theme of the two groups have diverged widly. That you refuses to see it doesn't make it untrue.

Agreed, they could possibly be for NPCs or DK eyes. One thing that stands out to me though is that there are several shades of blue options, which suggests there is a strong likelihood that blood elves will have the option of blue, and perhaps the blue eyes are still WIP. Humans are being given a wide range of eye colors, so I imagine many races will likely be given a similar treatment.

If Dath'remar was in charge, he would debate with his magisters whether is it possible to research Void without endangering Sunwell. They already managed to use arcane without summoning Burning Legion. A little upgrade to Ban'dinoriel wouldn't hurt.

Now, Lor'themar has even more possibilities. As he is a part of the Horde, he can just ask orcs in Orgrimmar to let him build void research institute in Barrens, far from any important magic source.

Good analogy! All Ion had to say was "we recognize that the Alliance has a faction of High Elves in their ranks, however we simply don't want to make them playable at this time." But instead he thought it would be hilarious to throw gas on the fire.

I mean plenty of the Alliance forces aren't playable, from Frostborn dwarves to Broken. Why this one required the game director to troll half the playerbase is beyond me.

It is always possible that these were datamined for high elf NPCs.

They did not discard it completely. They still have Lament of Highborne and they revere their past.

It's not Blizzard's fault when they've already told the playerbase that blood elves are our high elves and that's the direction they intend for the high race to go. They do not intend to direct the high elf race storyline via a fragmented handful of elves aligned with the Alliance. Blizzard have said they have no real purpose or identity, they're a bygone. Some alliance players have chosen to ignore this and cling to some false notion that alliance high elves are thriving and should be playable. The game shouldn't revolve around their narrow view simply because they want a blue eyed blood elf character on the blue side.

Show me a Blizzard source that states blood elves became something different when they adopted their new name. Any Blizzard source specifically refers to the blood elves as the high elves, and states that the high elves changed their name to blood elves in honor of their kin. No where does it say they became a new race and that alliance high elves are the high elf race of WoW. No, even the Blood Elf race page on the official WoW website refers to them multiple times as the high elves and every context of the race description talks about them as being the high elves (now with a new name). They never stopped being high elves.

You anti-Helf really are dense, it's impressive.

OF COUSE IT'S ALL POLITICAL !

Is it clear enough here ?

Yes, the blood elves are physiologically the same, but they are disgusting, pathetic, little pieces of shit ! My single best time in WoW is the Purge of Dalaran, were I could slaughter them again and again in the streets, because those damn rats have joined with the Horde and proved that they have an utter lack of moral and values.

I want to play the High Elves. Those who said "Fuck you" to their Kingdom when they finally realized how corrupt it was; those who were exiled because hey refused to survive at the cost of their morality. I want the High Elves. Those of the Lodges, Stormwind and the Silver Covenant. I hate the Blood Elven zone. I hate interacting with Blood Elves NPCs, who are all either corrupt or hypocritical.

But I love being around HE NPCs because of their moral compass, their values, their determination to endure, no matter what, by staying true to themselves and the morals their profess.

That's why Blood Elves aren't High Elves. Not anymore. The former are despicable when the latter are admirable.

That's really as simple as that.

Here's a question. Who the fuck is sticking to just one side and intentionally missing out on half the game?

If you're sticking to just one side you deserve to miss out, that includes for alliance fair skinned thalassian elves.
