Can an Alliance player play a High Elf?
Let's not use such a facetious argument that has nothing to bare on the current discussion.

Not facetious. That a Blood Elf can wear blue armor means as much as a Void Elf wearing red/black armor and then trying to call themselves a blood knight or some such.

Stiven mentions what he has done here is to cross human eyes with the Blood Elf model, and to show what looks like the Undead glowing eyes don't work as well.

This image is a thought experiment and is not accurate.

He's showing that human and undead eyes do work well on Blood Elves. But that the 'supposed datamined ones intended for blood elves' they did earlier actually do not. The human eyes are the regular blue ones and the only undead eyes are the pink one.

But yes he's showing that currently the supposed ones for Blood Elves aren't working as intended yet.

It wouldn't make sense to call a void elf a blood knight, as that is a blood elf group. On the other hand, a farstrider is also a blood elf thing so it would make sense despite the color armor they choose to wear (be it red, blue, whatever). War paints and the high elven ranger theme are part of farstrider culture (a blood elf group).

And despite that, a new blue joined the team that still wishes for Blood Elf Druids. Players, and even Blizzard employees, will always simply request what they want with no regard for whether something actually makes sense or not.

Because that's the norm. Which is what I've been trying to tell others. Most people will just ask for things, they don't care to ensure 'oh this makes sense in lore and gameplay and yada yada' all the stuff that people are trying to make those requesting High Elves jump hoops over.

Play horde, this clearly is not going to happen anywhere else but on the horde if it does and I am sure there will be QQ from all. I play both factions now as I don't care about faction anymore like a normal person.

Nah this doesn't work for me. I have many friends/guildies I'm attached to on Alliance who I've built bonds with and limited time to play. When I have made an alt horde to unlock Allied Races it just felt hollow and lifeless, not fulfilling at all.

With limited time to play it's not worth, for me.

I'm sure many others are attached in the same or similar ways as me.

That has nothing to do with what we were discussing before. We were discussing appearances, not "motivations". Regardless, Alleria is no longer defined as a high elf... she is defined as a void elf. This is part of Blizzards description of the upcoming novel.

They refer to Alleria as a void elf. She is defined as one, not as a high elf. It's time to move on, it no longer makes sense to reference her when discussing alliance high elves as she has evolved from that. She is a void elf.

She is not high elf in her motivations. She wants her people to be slaves. A real Quel'dorei would never bow to a stranger without gaining profit from that.

My response was to Broflake saying 'what prevents me from wearing blue on my blood elf' which sidesteps the point I was making earlier that Blood Elf customization for now seems focused on their existing theme colors (red/black/green/gold).

One can wear blue on a blood elf, but that doesn't make it the thematic color for the race. That is my point, and so far blue has been missing from BE options.

Things can always change, I never not acknowledged it.

I played Horde for a very long time, and i came to the realization is life is too short to get too invested into any one thing, put over 600 days played into this game since it came out and I can tell you at a certain point you stop caring about your characters as they will all go offline some day and you won't have them at all so it matters none.

Honestly the best thing they can do for the health of the game is allow cross faction everything PvE related.

You're describing a current Sin'dorei. Remember even Elisande recognized current Quel'dorei now intermingle with the other races

Sin'dorei are real Quel'dorei. Elisande recognised blood elves as the only elves even remotely worthy of their heritage.

Quite simply because it is the reality of what is happening in the game.
The farstrider high elves who died during the 3rd war became dark rangers in the service of the horde.

But what is the point of what you are saying? Why is it relevant? Yes, the Dark Rangers are dead Farstriders, but they aren't 'the Farstriders of the Horde'. The actual Farstriders are the Farstriders of the Horde.

I played Horde for a very long time, and i came to the realization is life is too short to get too invested into any one thing, put over 600 days played into this game since it came out and I can tell you at a certain point you stop caring about your characters as they will all go offline some day and you won't have them at all so it matters none.

I do agree with cross-faction everything PvE. The recent interview with Ion he said that in regards to War Mode in Shadowlands they've been taking a lot of feedback from BFA and thinking they could make it Covenant vs Covenant or even areas where its Free-For-All against your own faction members.

That they're willing to do the latter (it's actually what Ion mentioned first) means this whole 'faction pride' is laid to the side in Shadowlands. I think if they're willing to take that step going forward, it shows that PvP isn't beholden to lore status and can simply be a game mechanic.

Thus on PvE side of things too, doing cross-faction PvE could one day be considered a game mechanic. Besides our characters are always grouping up to stop a big bad anyway so doing dungeons/raids cross-faction in PvE makes sense.

Exactly, now I would be lying if i said I do not have a fondness for my most played characters but changing to Alliance recently has giving me the ability to move on from things and accept change a bit easier, that might also come with age though too so it could be a combination of things.

For example, a soldier who leaves the army is ex-military. A police officer who leaves the force is an ex-cop. And a Farstrider who betrays their nation to help their wartime enemies is a traitor, but we will settle for former Farstrider on this particular point.
