Probably! whenever AR get added customization*

I believe that we are getting eye colors for AR across the board with shadowlands because the customization for eyes is separate from face now, so they are throwing some colors in for the monochromatic eye races.

    We'll see.
Highly unlikely they would add a 3 option ear length just for NPC options.

Maybe they will simply give both Thalassian elves the option to be a half-elf through customization options. It actually makes a ton of lore sense for them both to have that option too.

Now they just need to cover the other side of the half-elf equation. Make it like Tolkien's half-elves, where they could choose which side to be. So maybe add some pointy ear options to humans/forsaken so you can play a "prefer my human side" half-elf or a "prefer my elf side" half-elf (in terms of racial abilities especially).

While I think it will be very useful for people who wanna RP half elves, I don't think ear length is related to being a hybrid. Like, Blood Elves would be the least likely to intermingle with humans, and we already have races like goblins with ear options. Makes me think we might see earl length option for Night Elves as well -and NB in the future.

This will make one barrier less so that HE is a possibility later in the alliance.
Don't see how this is related to HE playability tbh. If anything, the opposite is true. If they want to keep races looking distinct, using options that could go to High Elves, on blood elves, points more that HE won't be playable.

I really think we shouldn't jump to the conclusion that ear length has much to do with mixed heritage.

Yes I know, that's why I said "maybe".

I hope that we will see in WOW, the children of Vereesa who had to grow up to avenge their father lol ! : p

    New void elf eyes.

    https://www.wowhead.com/news=316173/...ding-blue-eyes

One thing: the eyes for void elves are not the same as the eyes for blood elves. Blood elves will have purple eyes, it seems:

It appears the high elf-like blue eyes (with pupils) are also for void elves, unless WoWHead mistook NPC options. Does it mean we may get high elf customization for void elves after all?

The bold is what keyboardturner was trying to point out the whole time, it's even shown on the textures, the pupils on a VE are practically invisible, but not for BE who have both their pupils and irises clearly visible.

It probably simply doesn't make logistical sense to not update the ARs at the same time as the parent race. The work is being done for one, why not do them both while you are at it instead of coming back later?

I've been saying for a while that ARs will probably get eye color and some more textures (skins and hair colors), but new assets like jewelry or hair styles are unlikely to come with 9.0. Maybe in later patches.
    Whatever...

Yeh, but that's like saying "maybe we'll get playable high elves" lol. I feel context of likelyhood is important, more than personal wishes. I say this as someone who really wants high elves, but doesn't think they will happen.

That probably makes the most sense, unless one of those jewelry or hair styles is one they want to give to both. Which is possible, since they are giving Stormwind humans the Kul Tiran mustaches.

I think what he means is due to sharing of customization from Void Elves, it gives more strength to the people asking for High Elves as well as those asking to look like Alleria on their Void Elves.

Because it throws a wrench into the whole 'what's on the other faction must be distinct from one another'.

Facial hair is now shared between the Thalassians, only differences being color.

And I stated earlier that these customizations options are getting more minute/subtle in their differentiation which makes it theoretically less of a big deal than before where some felt like "Blizzard does everything in broad brush strokes" aka Skin color is arbitrarily greater than eye color, but the recent news and customization options are showing that subtler differentiation is having greater impact/effect.

My wild guess is these eye colors are covenant related; we now have 3 races that have shown purple eyes so I'm like, in full conspiratory mode.

I don't think we are gonna get HE customization for Void Elves. But of we get it, won't be on Shadowlands.

When I saw that is when I knew that races would start to share customization options. Because y'know, they're the exact same race.

I pretty much called it that BE would get VE customization options. It's the same with Humans and the Gnomes and likely the Orcs as well.

I'd rather High Elves as their separate option so I'm ok with this.

Wowhead says the purple eyes for both void and blood elves are flagged as NPC-only...

If that's so, I think Blizzard needs to reconsider. Both look awesome, and I always wanted purple eyes for void elves... Purple is voidy!

I'd rather High Elves as their separate option so I'm ok with this.
And they should share imo. Have a large pool of shared ones between the two versions (AR and core), but keep a few things unshared that are unique to each. That would be ideal.

I think it was confirmed that the purple eyes are NPC only, at least for BEs

Yeh but it's pretty obvious that ultimately what makes VE and BE "distinct enough"for Blizzard is that they threw one into a blueberry juice vat. For me it feels kinda obvious they will dabble around but keep that strict differentiation for the forseeable future:

Blood Elves: Pink Skinned, Fair/Warm Haired, Green and Golden eyes
Void Elves: Blue skinned, Dark/Cold Haired, Blue and Violet (?) eyes

The fact they are downright shoting down blue eyed blood elves really points they want distinct aesthetics, even if it only comes down to coloring. Do I agree? Heck no, it's kinda lazy, but it just seems to be the logic behind. Seems there is sone tolerable overlap and one that isn't, and that one seems to be coloring.

Yeah, and sharing of elves is already set. Seems to be the only case for now.

But things like an Orc or Human are obviously going to be unshared.

I hope BEs get the bald option.

Though IMHO that option should be for every race and gender.

I said maybe, simply because I directly think "half-elf" by seeing these short ears, like many people.

Regarding high elf, we will see what will happen.
In the meantime, I'll be happy with my purple-eyed void half-elf.
