The lore reason already exists in Telogrus Rift. High Elves/sympathetic Blood Elves being taught by transformed Void Elves and Ethereals.

Indeed, and with void elf normal skins, it means we finally learned where new void elves look like.

I'm all for more options over less. I'd let complete race/class/faction combos happen if it were my way personally. Our characters are special regardless so they would be above regular 'mortal' politics.

Every single argument against fair-skinned belves on Alliance looks so moot and dumb now, but you guys brought it on yourself.



That being said, maybe I'll finally play an elf character for once. Yay options.

Man, my character is so going to have those pink eyes!

I am definitely going to make a High Elf hunter and High Elf mage now, hell maybe even Priest, or 1 of every class possible!!! The sickly ugly pale blue skin tone always turned me off from properly playing one.

Literally zero beyond roleplaying a High Elf traitor (lol) or a Blood Elf that isn't too connected to fel or the Sunwell. People WERE asking for it (mostly just to piss people off) so they got it.

Nothing is weird considering both "races" are sharing customization options now.

I don't know, I hope gold (denoting the Sunwell) and purple (denoting the void) remain unique. You can explain away your void elf keeping green or blue eyes, but Sunwell-infused gold is just antithetical to what you are. That at least is one visual difference each race should should retain IMO.

I think it's eye color, which admittedly looks a little more voidy close up and with the right skin color. I'm glad to see that's becoming available because I was hoping it would be.

Yeah I'm aware of that. But I want to see a deeper explanation. Why blood and high elves are such attracted by the void. What's Lorthemar thinking about it ? What are the consequences for Quel'Thalas etc...

I have a theory that Magister Umbric and his team of researchers found a way to revert back to their high elf form after intense studying in Telogrus Rift (we know that Telogrus is a place full of knowledge about the void, this is why they chose it as base of operations in the first place).

A fair skinned void elf in this case would likely just be a High Elf/Blood Elf using void powers taught by the transformed void elves. Void Elf would become a "politics" race instead of solely the transformed species of Ren'dorei.

I think they will keep Umbric and the main guys as the new species because otherwise there's no notable forces of the purple people. I don't think they're going to eradicate that part of their identity just because most people will play fair skinned.

We don't know if new Void Elves would end up looking like the rest of the Void Elf or just BEs with weird eyes, in the end, they become like that cause of an accident, so if the same came be done again without the accident, then they may get less "corruption"

Question though - what is the point of giving Blood Elves blue eyes?

Some blood elves haven't used fel for a while and arcane magic can remove effects of fel magic. It is a natural occurence.

All the void elves together could easily destroy the Sunwell again.

That doesn't necessarily mean its biological. I'm more willing to assume the skin and tentacles is the transformation, and they're adding tentacle-less hairstyles.

Everyone will have the same echo voice but that's just a gameplay thing.

Hell yeah!!! The best takeaway from this is they're moving away from their old-ass restrictions and opening up customization in a huuuuuge way, and allowing cross-pollination so to speak lol

This gets us ever closer to 'pick your race/class/faction' than ever before. Progress has been made, and they've at the very least said character customization will never end as they always want to open up more ways for players to express themselves in the World of Warcraft.

Agree. Seeing as Void Elves seem to be getting purple as well now, that and gold are basically perfect counterparts for the two races.
