They did something about it, wherein your post you implied they'd do absolutely nothing for fear of 'upsetting both sides'. It's always been said that getting something is better than nothing, very true here in that many on both sides are happy.
Only very very few are truly sour.

That nightborne!
Allerian elves from Outland coming home, Dalaran high elves who miss home, Farstriders who kept away from the Fel crystals and aren't pious enough to have golden eyes (yet?), magisters regularly wielding the Arcane... The possibilities are endless.
Also Kai, myself and others are vindicated in suspecting this thread was all about aesthetics rather than lore, as Kai pointed out earlier. But, whatever, people are happy so I'm happy.
Its just like I said, there was literally zero point to arguing against helf inclusion, because they would be added eventually.
Every single argument against fair-skinned belves on Alliance looks so moot and dumb now, but you guys brought it on yourself.
That being said, maybe I'll finally play an elf character for once. Yay options.

The Alliance gets the Horde's most popular race. The Horde should get the Alliance's most popular race in return. Alteraci Humans for the Horde!

I don't know, I hope gold (denoting the Sunwell) and purple (denoting the void) remain unique. You can explain away your void elf keeping green or blue eyes, but Sunwell-infused gold is just antithetical to what you are. That at least is one visual difference each race should should retain IMO.

"If you want to play alongside High and Void elves, the Alliance is waiting for you"
Oh yeah. I have a theory that Magister Umbric and his team of researchers found a way to revert back to their high elf form after intense studying in Telogrus Rift (we know that Telogrus is a place full of knowledge about the void, this is why they chose it as base of operations in the first place).
A fair skinned void elf in this case would likely just be a High Elf/Blood Elf using void powers taught by the transformed void elves. Void Elf would become a "politics" race instead of solely the transformed species of Ren'dorei.

I think they will keep Umbric and the main guys as the new species because otherwise there's no notable forces of the purple people. I don't think they're going to eradicate that part of their identity just because most people will play fair skinned.
Alleria is there for the Helf rep, Umbric and his crew is there as the Velf rep. We just desperately need more velves in lore beyond one.
