Yeah but that niche made Sylvando one of my most used characters. Shuffle Dance + Oomph spamming on Jade and Hero. I actually used Rab alot for the part of the game where you are missing Veronica. He is still a better damage caster than serena with Pearly Gates. Its hard to say who I used the least. They all had their uses, in some way.
Tbh sword Erik feels pretty weak apart from his ground spells which hit pretty hard maybe because i'm lv24 and still missing some core talents

Yeah, Erik becomes a monster towards endgame. In fact I think he can out damage any of the other characters when he gets certain skills and is oomphed. Unfortunately you have to waste a turn setting all of that up to get him to that point. And later bosses like to debuff quite frequently. So the risk of losing a lot of set up time is high.
If you go straight for dual wield for Erik, he will carry you through some tough battles. Veronica is the true hero, though. She's a walking nuke!
I disagree entirely.
Erik literally destroys anything up to the end of act 2 if built properly.
His usefulness tapers off in the end game however. His power is really in cobra strike/sleeper hit and it doesn't take that long into the game to make that build. It just becomes shit after act 2 as it's pretty hard to set up on any meaningful fight then.
He is fine post game because of the Divide combo, but always feels like a pita to pull off because you basically have to keep him alive for a few turns to get the buffs rolled out and for him to use Divide and then his other ability.
Sleeper Hit in particular stops working on bosses after Boreal Serpent, which is annoying.
Erik saved my ass 11 hours into the game when i faced 2 Coral rocky giants that could 2 shot any party member.
Erik has a dagger attack that puts enemies to sleep and i used it to crowd control one while i attacked the other one.
Serena can also crowd controll by inflicting enemies with illusions.
Found it very useful also.
This game never ends. I picked it up after ducking out on WoW and I'm like 72+ hours in. I've just started skipping as much dialog as possible, I just want to finish it and move on to other stuff.
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it.
Sovereign
Mass Effect
Unfortunately Erik's CC abilities are pretty much useless in late game. Poison is, at least from what I've found, to be the only status effect that does work. Meanwhile the game literally will try and fuck you with status effects in post game and it's so hard to mitigate against certain boss comps later in the game. You'll see what I mean when you get to that point.
edit:
Very disappointed about all sexual jokes being pushed to the character Jade.
Puff-Puff?
And an attack with her ass?
It comes by default with her...and i want to remove them with the re-spec feature.
I know this may come as a bit of lame in the age of SJW's...but i really liked the character...and to see her be the sexual female kinda disappointed me.
Right after we see flashbacks from her as a little girl and everything.
smh
I feel like she was originally two characters and one got cut for time. One was a martial artist, the other was a princess with 'sexy moves' as a stereotypical japanese 'gag character' but either for balancing or time it was all cobbled together into Jade who honestly seems to flip between two characters writing styles during play.
Its one of those things like noticing Quina never interacts with other party members in FF9 outside of his own story cutscenes since he was a super late afterthought and in most of the games events simply doesnt exist to the other characters. Once you are old and wise enough to know rpgs more than any other genre get cut and stitched back together a dozen times before release you notice how certain characters can easy be read as having less time put in as the others. Just compare Jade to Sylvando or Veronica and its like characters from two different studios.
50 hours into the game and i felt bad for Veronica...
After getting sword of light should i respec 1 hand and use hendrik's shield (the one gifter from king Carnelio) and let him go 2hand? Btw i think sylvando is better at healing and support than dpsing, i managed to 3 man the dragon on the mountain overlooking Kaldo after 3 members of my starting lineup (serena jade and hendrik) were cc'ed and destroyed with only sylvando doing aoe heals

IMO Hendrik is best Axe + Board. And that shield is pretty much his best in slot for a good chunk of the game from there on out.

You'll never avoid it. All of her moves are "sexy moves". Honestly though, I didn't find many uses for Jade in the late game.
Highly doubtful. The "badass warrior princess" trope typically gets sexualized in situations just like this.
Anyways, complaining about sexualization in DQ strikes me as someone who needs to get a grip. DQ is tame as fuck even compared to just FF let alone most other JRPGS.
I know the casino rewards aren't the most necessary things in the world but god damn, I really hate the gambling in DQ games. They just make them ass on purpose.
Just don't reply to me. Please. If you can help it.
