    Log analysis

    Hey there fellow Rogues

We've been told by our raid leaders to improve ourselves in terms of playstyle, rotation, CD usage etc.

Since I’m not that good with log analysis and log comparison, I thought that, since there are a couple of high-end rogues active on mmo-champ, maybe you guys could help me to improve.

You can find all my logs on my personal warcraftlogs page: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/charact...athrezim/pikay

I already saw that I often keep TB off CD for too long – working on that one. I’m sure there are a couple more changes I should (could) make to push my DPS.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Greetings, Pikay

First fight I looked at was your best Garothi, Envenom has 75% uptime, think you should be aiming for at least 85-90%. Make sure you got a buff timer displaying this on your UI so you can hold off using envenom only when buff is 2s or less. This will also help with energy management.

Will keep that in mind - thank you for your time and work!

Also you are just going for gear with high Ilevel. That's not good, you better take a 960 gloves that has mastery than taking 970 gloves without mastery. As 970+ ilevel you should be aiming at 175-200% mastery.

What relic traits do you have for secondary and tertiary? That strangler relic looks real bad.

Ill check cds here shortly. Gearing first though, as thats extremely important these days

Dont forget high crit. More crit means faster rotation through more energy and combo points.

    Also, are you holding kingsblade?

I go with the top gear simcraft (or raidbots) suggests. Not particularly looking for the iLvl at all.

On shadow: Chaotic Darkness and Master Alchemist
On iron: Shadowbind and Toxic Blades
On blood: Infusion of light and Balanced Blades

Again I was going with the trait raidbots suggested.

Whenever possible, mastery = crit gear, or as near a balance in favor of mastery. Try not to get stuff with super heavy one or the other if you can. Though i know options are limited.

You can’t go wrong with an EoC either. Tough to get though.

Iirc with shoulders/bracers you still want 3x mass relics, with the other 3 traits either balanced blades or master alch. If you switched to shoulders/boots you’d probably lean towards BB/master alch more. Secondary should be the crit on concordance if possible(don’t remember what it’s called).

Personal preference remains bracer/boots with 3 master alch, 2 bb, 1 master ass. And secondary traits the crit on concordance. But i’ve also got titanforged t20 2p. And my setup remains better than any permutation without t20 2p.

The gear is a pita to get right, and sims only go so far for you. More crit(and more BB relics) will increase energy gen and rotation speed, which will reduce kingsbane CD, as well as shift energy use into higher DPE abilities with double crit mutilates.(i routinely will get 5+ double crits in a row where i pump out envenoms back to back). Sims wont necessarily reflect that all the time.

Also, are you holding back kingsbane? You have 2 fewer uses of it than toxic blades on one of your legendary parses.

Well it depends… There are surely bosses on which one has to hold back certain abilities. Or you know you will not be able to dmg the boss due to mechanics and therefore delay casts.

Just double checking, i looked at an aggramar log this morning and it looked pretty good. You could have squeezed in more, but on a heroic parse, you're probably not doing a super tight rotation (it's not progression anymore)

Hijacking this thread to ask couple of relevant questions i hope:

    - Is it woth to envenom with less than 4 CP to keep envenom buff up?
    - With mantle, pump out envenoms quickly rather than wait for the debuff?
    - Should i ever hold on toxic blades for kingsbane? I see most guides say dont hold on it unless its 5s or less to kingsbane but i saw good log parses that seem to sync them all the time

    Cheers guys

    1. No.
    2. Envenom as many times as possible in the Crit window.
    3. The difference is probably so minimal that it's not worth waiting. Though I may be wrong.

    Cheers for the information

I have been syncing my kb to tb each time. I’ve tried both ways, no significant difference, it smooths the rotation to sync them imo, less hectic, less juggling. I may change it up at some point in the future to try it out.

It depends, the optimal way to use TB is with 9 seconds left on KB (the ramping dmg from KB peaks in the last 9 seconds). So with that logic, if there is going to be a waiting period of less than 15 seconds, holding TB is worth it. The way I usually see my rotation working is my TB lines up with the first KB (obviously) and I hold a few seconds for the second. In most cases though using them off CD is going to net you the best results, unless vanish/vendetta are coming up shortly, then its def worth waiting for buff stacking.
