This is not the only high profile rape conviction, this was actually the start of MANY high profile rape convictions. Weinstein, Olympic gymnast ass hat many many more. And yeah I literally just watched a victim argue against everything ya'll are arguing so, idk I'm not a victim, I can't speak for any of them. I think this is a set back, but as I said, it's far from a reset.

Literally watching one of the victims right now on CNN argue that 3 years is better than 0 years. How cosby is Infamous now instead of famous, and will have to live the rest of his life in infamy regardless. It's about changing the laws so technicalities like this don't happen which this case was successful at doing in many states.

Alright, please be more cautious about discussing sexual assault though. Projecting your own feelings over the actual feelings of the victims does more harm than good.

"Could have been better" and "Better than nothing" are not the same thing.

Derek Chauvin got 22.5 years instead of the 30 that prosecutors were asking for. That "could have been better"...but it's still a win.

Derek Chauvin getting released in 3 years because of a legal fuckup during his trial....that would be "better than nothing"...but it would not be a win.

You don't really seem to be grasping the issue. Not sure how more plainly I can explain it. You projecting your own feelings onto the victim of a sexual assault is not great. It's kinda insensitive.

I'm more than happy to listen to victims if or when they choose to speak about things like this, but I would never ever attempt to put myself in their shoes and say how I would feel if it were me who were the victim. Approaching this stuff with a bit of caution and tact is usually best.

I think this is the take away from the early-release on a technicality. Hell, even Cosby's lawyer is saying "we always thought he was treated unfairly" and not, "see, he was innocent". I'm not going to jump in this semantics discussion that's going on. Suffice it to say, I'm sure all the victims of Sexual Offender & Rapist Cosby are upset by his early release, but it has to be at least some comfort that Cosby was convicted. THAT is the big win. Jail time, at some point, is just different of levels of punishment, predicated on the guilt of the person. And then only released on a technicality, which literally rested on the prosecution using his own words against him.

If it comes out that something made it possible he would have served 0. I would take the 3 as a win. Again was it the best outcome? no.
