Why are conspiracy theories a forbidden discussion?

I can see some harm in discussing political conspiracies, but those can be forbidden, and 9/11 happened a long time ago.

It's not slightly as "fun" as it is annoying and flameinducing. They're forbidden for a reasons, they're a breeding ground for trolling.

Mostly what XDurionX said. Those threads rarely, if ever, make for productive discussions.

They usually quickly devolve into all sorts of trolling, people bashing each other, etc. Also, remember that, while it may seem questionable to a lot of people, some conspiracy theories actually have big followings of people who genuinely believe them. MMO-Champion has a very diverse user base, some of whom may believe those things. Threads discussing these theories often turn into places to ridicule those people.

We do not wish to be a platform for any kind of hate. With all of that in mind, it's better not to allow threads about conspiracy theories in the first place.
