Thoughts on cast:
Aramayo was good
Clark - it didn't matter if she was good, the whole character was fucked either way
Vickers - fine, but I feel like Sauron should be taller
Walker - wildly miscast as Gil-Galad
Edwards - even more wildly miscast Celebrimbor
Owen - 20 years too old to be Elendil - if it takes 10 years he will be 66 at the end of the series, and supposed like the greatest human warrior in the second age at the time
Baldry - at least he's the right age for Isildur, but too much of an emo vibe for me. Also, he's short.
Arthur - good as Durin
Nomvete - good as Disa
Pharazon - who the fuck is this snivelling politician. Pharazon is a soldier. At least he's the right age for the part. On some level Pharazon is supposed to be the captain of the football team type who everyone follows even though he's an asshole. Not a master manipulator by any stretch - in fact he's supposed to get manipulated later by Sauron. Like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.
Every other main actor - I don't care, they were all shitty characters in pointless plotlines

Well, the reason why I'm proposing salvaging it at all is because we know Amazon is committed to 5 seasons of this, and sadly it's the only live action LOTR related material we're getting in the next 5+ years. And the chances that Amazon would forget it ever happened and reboot is as slim as Star Wars rebooting the sequel trilogy. It's a hopeless fantasy, whereas a fan edit is at least a plausible way to get a 'watchable' version of this mess.
I mean, we'd all rather they just did a good job from the beginning. But they're gonna milk this bad boy cuz they already put money down for it, and they're touting it a success so I don't see them mothballing anything really. We're gonna get more of this series regardless, it's already well in production.
You would rather see Tolkien's work turned into a MCU-like franchise with a Aragorn drama and Gandalf series? That was the pitch Netflix gave. Or HBO's pitch that would essentially have remade the Jackson films.Would it be able to out do the Jackson trilogy that is so highly praised here? Somehow I think a lot of the people here wouldn't like what others do as well.

Not sure why you're replying to me about this considering I'm fine with watching it.
It's like the Hobbit movie series to me. It's not great, but it's definitely watchable. And fan edits made it way better by cutting out the fluff.
Same goes with certain Starwars movies or series, like fan edits of Obi Wan or the prequel trilogy, or even the OT 'despecialized' versions.

Honestly I would rather more games be made about LotR than tv or movies.

So?
If they want to watch so they can shit about the piece of crap it is, what is to you? Instead of telling people to not watch, you can simple not talk to then or ignore then, lmao.

On the cast, i think only Halbland and the dwarves actors were good. And should be kept, the rest is 100% a re-cast. Remove the hobbits and we can work on it
The guy that played Adar looked more like an elf than every other elf in the show, good for hiim that he peace the fuck out
I think Lloyd Owens Elendil were better than Wickers as Halbrand. I would certainly add him to that list. Bit surprised he isn't in it.
Only bad scene with him were the crying part but that's because of the hilariously bad and comedic cut to him.
Him talking to the horse had more emotion than all other actors not in that list combined through the entire season.

That's exactly why we're both here.
What exactly do you think you are doing, Mr. Pot?
Given your disdain of anyone who criticizes the show, you will be here to interject yourself and accuse others for even daring hold a conversation about the show in any negative way
Given the clear and obvious state of the show and this thread, do you really click on the thread expecting people not to be talking shit about the show? And somehow you are surprised that this is still going on?
Don't bullshit a bullshitter. You click on the thread knowing it's gonna be people talking shit, and you gravitate towards it because you are compelled to 'correct' it. And yet nothing you're actually saying would actually accomplish what you want, because you're just... Arguing for the sake of arguing too. You're aware of this, right?
It's funny you're suggesting that people ignore something you don't like, but you can't seem to ignore the same drama that keeps you here. If you want to take your own advice, you can choose to ignore this entire thread when yiu are fully aware that people are talking about it in ways you don't like. Truth is, you're drawn to the bullshit, you just don't seem to recognize it yet.

LOL
Says the guy who instigated this? I'm fully aware we both are arguing for the sake of arguing. That's all anyone does here really.
I'm sure you're aware you're doing the exact thing you're preaching against. That's why you're peacing out so quickly. You fucked your own reason to respond lol. But don't let me waste the time you could be spending making other pointless bullshit in the She-Hulk thread. Have a nice day too.

I really don't know what they were thinking of when casting for Gil Galad and Celebrimbor. It was odd (though not that odd since this series should have been called "the misadventures of Galadriel")

Could have been a possibility too
https://www.esquire.com/entertainmen...ings-of-power/
"When we first went up for the job, we were told there were literally dozens of other people who were also throwing their hat in the ring, and everyone was coming in with different things," Payne said. "Amazon bought the rights to the trilogy, the appendices, and The Hobbit. They said the field was wide open—any story within that material, you could tell. So you had people pitching the Young Aragon show, or the Gimli spinoff, or other kinds of things."
I remember hearing rumors about it, and interesting to see it was actually confirmed as one of the possibilities.
For sure. It would still need to invent its own material though so it likely wouldn't please people unless it met their ideas for the characters. Rings of Power probably would have been better if it was done like that. Have individual/character shows that then come together for the group "avengers" style show. I think only HBO's pitch would have been a disaster since it would always be a 1:1 comparison to the Jackson films.

What amuses me more is, i saw artwork for the show, that they made so they could take base off, the elves there looked like elves, had long hair and all, but things changed along the way, like i mentioned before with the changing of direction.
I honestly forgot about him, yeah, he was ok, just had a rly bad script/director, obviously someone TOLD him to cry like that, and its a meme
