Well I can't argue against the requirement of such law but I think the current age limits are just a bit too unreasonable especially when we consider the insanely harsh punishments applied.

Meanwhile, we have plenty of other examples of laws using arbitrary numbers. For example, speed limits. 75mph in a 55. At the time, that was the speed of traffic and conditions were fine. But you're still 20mph over.

Okay, so if I have under a certain quantity of marijuana, it's literally the same ticket as a minor (another arbitrary number) having tobacco where I live. If I have over that quantity, I'm potentially up for dealing.

It's 16 in Australia. I think it's pretty normal at that age. I mean to be fair at 16 your Body has been in a "reproduction" state for 3-4 years already and if they can trust you to drive a Car at 16, then sex is fine.

I've met plenty of adults who are much older, who are dumber than alot of kids I've met.

The age of consent is just a blanket line in the sand so there's a general guideline to act on.
If we could, I'd say we should always go off of actual maturity and let each person prove themselves.

There is 30 year old's who are less developed then a 16 year old (my states consent age) so now I don't think it is. You can drive at 16 and go to war at 18, What I think is dumb is you can't drink until 21.
