It's probably the most optimized game I've ever played, I was playing on 1440p on my TV with a RX 480.

Yeah...it's eating ultra nightmare at 2K/100fps pretty easily. I just built a new rig with a 3070 so I expected it to munch through the game, but damn does this look fuckin gorgeous.

And enjoying it quite a bit so far. Just kinda wish we had more ammo and didn't have to chainsaw kill as much. But I guess that will come over time as I get more guns and tools. I'm just sad knowing that Mic Gordon and Bethesda had a falling out and won't work together anymore, because holy shit this shit slaps so fuckin hard.

The ammo thing is a pretty common complaint. It really just makes me miss chainsawing larger demons. Sometimes you still get in situations where you have no fodder to chainsaw and you are left with only grenades and maybe a blood punch.

That mostly happens in corridors, during big fights fodder is constantly spawning until last heavy/super-heavy is killed.

And for corridors the trick is to leave 1 fodder alive after the big fight so you can restock for the corridors after.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

Ancient Gods Part 2 Teaser coming on 3-15-21. Not sure if that will have a release date or not. I would expect TAG2 no earlier than April.

That image triggers everything I like to see in games/fantasy imagery. Reminds me of the first time I saw Realms of Chaos and thought, "This was made specifically for me by the universe?"

Some of those Hell vessels look like corrupted Sentinel technology. I wonder if they will be enemies that appear in the second part of the DLC. I still haven't bought part 1, I'll wait until both are available so I can play it through continuously.

Man I need to get back into this game but like...just thinking about playing it exhausts me. There's just so bloody much going on at once and I love it but I also hate it.

I'm here for that artwork though. Huge fan of where they've taken the visual presentation, both in and out of game.

I do agree, the game play isn't really up my alley even though I love everything about it. Just the resource managing really kills it for me.

Yeah. The additional abilities are cool and all, but between needing to swap weapons often for enemy weak points, juggle health/armor regen and abilities (I'm bad and get hit), remember to chainsaw for health, and everything else going on it got pretty overwhelming. Especially since there are like...a lot of layered progression systems they added beyond just the two weapon customization options.

It's been a while and I should probably just load it back up, but damn were some of the fight much more "annoying" than fun. Really dig the increased focus on platforming though, feel like they've nailed that pretty damned well. That and the much bigger maps that allow for a lot of really awesome visuals and moments (like using the giant mech thing).

Just play on an easier difficulty. It's not as hard to pull off the "Doom Dance" as the upper difficulties. But you still get a ton of demons thrown at you.

It's not "hard" for me, just exhausting. Like, I got through the first few levels pretty easy peasy but damn did I kinda feel drained each time. Easier difficulty leaves more room for mistakes, but is also unsatisfying. I'll stop being a little baby and put on my big boy pants again soon : |

Understandable. They still throw a lot of enemies at you though. At easier difficulties, the resource management is just more forgiving. So can ignore a lot of the constant mental checklist of what to kill, with what and when and enjoy the supreme level design, combat space, and so on. Which I think is the real delight of the game.

Going back through levels (secrets/Xp/achievements/etc) when you unlock everything is much more enjoyable at higher difficulties than going through the whole campaign on harder difficulty settings too. I think doing that is even more rewarding because you get to pick & choose the levels (less exhausting) and is a test of mastery.

I have all my keys set on my keyboard. Using a weapon wheel or number keys will slow you down esp if you quickswap (A requirement in nightmare)

R - Flame thrower, spam this on cooldown
M3 - Grenade - also spam on CD, Use Freeze Grenade when my health reaches 100 or lower
G - Grenade swap, I mapped this to an extra mouse button
CAPS - Rocket Launcher (lock on)
    E - Glory Kill/Punch
    q + M2 + M1 - Precision shot
    Z - Ballista
    F - Chaingun (shield)
Mouse wheel up - shotgun (Grenade, unless you are facing Stone imps)
Mouse wheel down - plasma (Microwave)
    X - DBL Shotgun

Anyone play battlemode? I use to play it a lot, but its been months and I am back to sucking at it.

I wonder how annoying these pricks are going to be:

Yellow shields, so my guess is no plasma weakness.

    Blood Punch solves everything.

Chaingunners will likely not be hit scanners. And there yellow shield implies it will take more than a plasma rifle to break them.

Nothing a freeze grenade can't fix.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.
