    Smile 2018-2019 NCAA Football

Welcome to the new NCAA college football thread! It is about a month and a half until the season starts, so I figured it was time time to open up a new thread.

Feel free to talk about anything specifically related to college football here.

For those new to NCAA-level football:

    Power 5 conferences
    PAC-12
    Big 12
    Big 10
    ACC
    SEC

    G-5
    Sunbelt
    Mountain West
    Mid-American
    Conference USA
    AAC

    Independent schools
    (Notre Dame, BYU ect...)

As a reminder: football vs rugby vs soccer vs handegg is infractable. Bashing of college or pro football (NFL, XFL, or AAF) is also not allowed per the rules.

Whoops, didn't look at the map east of the rockies, but it would appear these are the winningest teams by state

Which cant be only using recent, because Texas has uh...rather sucked lately.

my thanks for using one that doesn't give those Aggies the Texas advantage.

No problem, but did you have to use a pro BYU map last thread?
That's something that should be infractible.

If Jimbo Fisher can stop cleaning up the state of Texas, that would be greaaaat.

*mutters about 1 year coaching bump*

Also, RIP Georgia. Jake Fromm apparently broke his non throwing hand and had a tree fall on his house.

Apparently the first game of the Holy War was played in April, and Utah won 12-4.

Finished playing around with different maps, feel like I've found the best one, even if it doesn't use team logos; if someone wants to edit it and post logos, that'd be great

Also, Utah has the #10 toughest schedule in the nation this year.

lol. July is usually extremely dead. I usually just browse reddit in the meantime.

CFB Risk was the best offseason game ever invented.

Pfft it's an election year. Kasich will probably issue a special pardon for Meyer. Maybe a quarter-game suspension against Tulane at the worst.

    Anyways
    1. That map is stupidly pro Oregon, whither the fans of Montana and MSU.
    2. Oregon seems overhyped this year with their QB Herbert. Tall QBs a are stupid catnip for sports writers, see Jared Allen. They do have a favorable schedule with UW and Stanford at home. Hebert will probably be injured by then, curse of the tall QB.
    3. For Pac12 news, Jon Wilner is probably the best beat reporter out west.
    4. UW vs Auburn should be fun. Well once the offenses decide to show up. Both were slow starters last year.

Don’t feel sorry for us, if he covered stuff up then he needs to go.

Well last time Ohio State went from Tressel to Meyer, so I guess let's all get ready to welcome Nick Saban to Columbus.

I could see it happening. Saban does have an Ohio connection. He got his start under Don James at Miami(Ohio).

I would pay to see the Harbs reaction shot.

    It's unfortunate.
Meyer was an absolute legend while here at Utah.

I mean, Utah's set to possibly go playoffs despite having a tougher schedule then USC.

Also, holy fuck this map is stupidly pro-Oregon

Ya thats why I like Wilner's take. He points out that Utah drew a much tougher conference slate, having to play the top three in the north; UW, Stanford, and Oregon. QB Huntley had a few nice games last year, then a few boners. And yay for the Holy War being back on this year.

I'm on board with that. I'm still hella bitter about BYU being National Champs in 1984.

1984 never happened. We just went from 1983 to 1985. Nobody knows what happened to or during 1984.

At least, that's what I tell myself to get over my butthurt about that... abomination.

So I did some reading, and apparently we don't even know if Urban knew about the domestic abuse early enough beforehand to make it a violation of contract even.
Even if he DID know something, we don't know how or what his wife told him a la telephonè effect
