AOTC mount sanity check

A bit of confusion in my guild -- is this mount off the table after this week, or did Blizz at some point say it was obtainable all the way up through launch?

Sorry mistaken, I mean to say mount. AotC is removed but the Mount is still available until BFA launch.

ith the arrival of the Battle for Azeroth pre-expansion patch, two time-limited Feats of Strength will no longer be obtainable—Ahead of the Curve: Argus the Unmaker and Cutting Edge: Argus the Unmaker, which charge heroes with defeating the final boss of Antorus, the Burning Throne in Heroic or Mythic difficulty respectively.

Once Battle for Azeroth goes live on August 14, the Violet Spellwing mount for completing the Blood of a Titan quest (defeat Argus the Unmaker on Heroic difficulty or higher) will also no longer be available—but if you’re interested in earning it before then, you can get a little help from your friends in the community. Keep an eye on the in-game Group Finder (I) or look for community-run groups like Friendship Birb or Perky Pugs.

I believe the achievement will go away with prepatch but you will still get the quest to go to khadgar and get your mount.

Prepatch will also be next week as US didn't get it last reset.

That'll only be the Shackled Ur'zul from Mythic.

You're thinking of droppable mounts such as the Argus Mythic mount. That will go to a 1% drop rate when BFA launches on August 14th. The Violet Spellwing is obtained from a quest drop just like Heroic Garrosh and Heroic Archimonde did. Once BFA launches this mount will no longer be obtainable because it's not an actual drop from the boss but rather a quest item you get and complete to learn the mount. The quest will simply no longer exist.

So for clarification:

AOTC and Cutting Edge are gone in the prepatch (most likely July 17th)
Violet Spellwing is will be removed on August 14th (Launch day)
Mythic Argus mount will remain 100% drop until August 14th to which it will become a rare drop chance (Usually 1%)

it's pretty unique, why wouldn't they? And it will have rarity value since it will no longer be obtainable.

What is the point in removing that quest? The cheap wankers even chickened out and made it a mount with a ludicrous riding position. If they remove it they could have at least made it a transformation..
