There was hype, I read a lot of the stories, I was disappointed. It is good for the origin of certain horror, but nothing about it is dazzling. Mediocre writing and story concepts to be honest.

There are bunch of compilations. The stories aren't sequential. Some tie into each other, but there isn't a definitive order they need to be read in.

The ones I suggested are just some of the best ones to start with because they aren't too slow. All his stories are bizarre, but some are always very slow.
