Should I get new computer now or wait?

In my opinion I should have got new computer 1-2 ago. Current age should be around 5.8 years old and I start to notice it.

Friend recently said "just wait a month and gpu prices go down!". Does this matter? Would it be significant?

I had been planning to get new computer by bfa release since I thought that would be a good point since I have other things to do too. I try to have my computers last for years, budget is aimed for 4 years so, as far as budget goes, that 5.8 years gives me some extra to splurge any way.

I even have setup planned and everything. Ready to buy, but the question is... should I wait? Any opinions on this?

Is your current pc broken or is it incapable of doing what you want?

if yes buy a new one, if no stick with it.

GPU prices might still come down a bit, but a lot of parts are already at or near MSRP, and the launch of new GPU's as some think will happen soon, usually does not change much on the price of older parts.

If you need/want it now, get it now and don't feel bad, some newer, better or faster hardware is always around the corner.

I just built a new PC and upgraded away from my old 4 core i5 3570k.
Turns out on my old PC i was experiencing lag I didn't even know existed.

Old PC was like a rusty dull butterknife
New PC is like a searing hot katana slicing through butter.

We really don't need to hear about your new PC every 3 minutes though.

it's great that you like it, but there's already plenty of threads where you gush over it.

It makes a great example especially on this thread.

But given the core increases and the unlikeliness of them going that much further than 8cores any time soon, if OP has the money now is a good time to grab an upgrade.
