The Punchcard Trinket is literally just glyphs on an item slot.

Blizz, we all see what feature is coming back in 9.0.

Reminds me more of the later-stage glyphs. Multiple tiers, unlocked over time, even the almost same UI.

Glyphs are based on modifying spells though, these provide new spells and effects that are independent of class/spec (but see to have role types).
