    Garden of Terror Update, Weekly Hero Rotation & Sales, HGC Insider Ep 2

    Garden of Terror Update
    Garden of Terror is getting a rework in the near future! Here's what we know about the updated map so far:

    • No day/night cycle
    • No player-controlled Garden Terror
    • Neutral seed camps/bosses are gone
    • Seed points (think tributes on Cursed Hollow) spawn in occasionally
      • Can be capped be either team, and is guarded by neutral monsters
    • After a team gathers 3 seeds, three NPC Garden Terrors spawn in the lanes, akin to the Webweavers on Tomb of the Spider Queen
      • NPC Garden Terrors can use Overgrowth (disables buildings) and an area stomp

    So, they removed an original mechanic to make instead a mix between Cursed hollow & Tomb on the spider queen ?

    Not sure that this is the right way to boost the game ...

    Pretty much this. There were so many other ways to fix garden of terror and not take away its originality.

    I don't understand why they're trying to homogenize things. The Garden Terror concept was like a mix between Spiders and Dragon Knight, now it's very much Spiders only.

    It's an odd change - however I hate this map so much that I welcome any change at this point even odd ones.

    I don't get it. Were there complaints about this map? I actually like it and if anything, Towers of Doom is the worst and needs rework. We really need to be able to ban maps before q.

    You have that backwards, at least as far as the majority opinion goes. It has consistently been listed as the worst map in the game for years, bar none, while Towers is always among the best.

    It's definitly a mechanic that's used a lot, considering TotSQ, AP, HM and BoE all have a similar objective. That said, I'm not sad to see the old one go. It was always one of my least favorite maps and I'm not too big on controlable vehicles either, GoT was probably the worst one in that regard aswell.

    Pretty happy that they're updating it like this, though. Rather than having them pull a map for a whole year.

    Forgive me. All you did was state that other people have opinions that differ from mine. That goes without saying for anything ever created that some will like/some will not. Subjective fun and all.

    The question is more to do with why, how etc. A capture point is a capture point. It's all relative. If I'm waiting for alters @ towers or waiting on point @Volskaya, it's still a capture point. So not sure why waiting on capture point for dragon is any worse than the volsk bot. Still doing the exact same act. So subjective opinion on fun aside, Is there a general consensus that the volk bot is no fun? is it vehicle combat altogether? I don't get it really still and liked its uniqueness as well.

    For me, the big problem was that the night cycle had mirrored minons to attack. This resulted in almost every game I played there as a trade, one team gets top then other bottom.

    This meant both teams got terrors at the same time, which resulted in all out defence or attack from both sides. The overall feeling was that you were doing non-stop PvE the whole game, not very fun!

    I think a single, localised boss to kill for seeds was all that was needed. It was force teamfights and the "growing" mechanic would limit how snowbally it could become.

    It feels that blizzard is backing up on all original ideas that made this game stand out from other mobas.

    I feel they just realize what worked well and what did not work so well. I stopped playing any mode but HL just because the old maps were horrible to play on. It’s the same for the specialist rework, I hated split pushing heroes in my team... To me the game gets better with each decision they make.

    Those are some solid buffs, I definitely approve of those improvements! Looks like I might be giving Kerrigan and Brightwing a try again.

    Indeed, this has been one of my fav maps since alpha and now they're dumbing down/running it /cry
