From what I've seen, graphite pads are 1-2 degrees under decent thermal paste, so perfectly acceptable.

Which ones? It's the same shit with Thermal Grizzly pastes - they perform super well in YT test but in real life are actually comparable with GD-900 (a good chinese paste). They are pretty durable, I can give them that.

videos like this are the reason people come here asking why their gpu is performing so badly, and then we find out they have plugged their monitor into the motherboard and have been using the igpu for the last 6 months.

The worst part is I actually did that when I was younger.. Bought a PC and monitor from the same place and plugged my monitor into the IGPU..

In my defence, the cable I got with it only fit in the IGPU

I put his exact build into pcpartpicker and only came up with $1690. So his math sucks as bad as his cable management.

Also, RAM can technically be put in however you want them IF they are specified/allowed by the mobo you are using.

Yeah, some mobos require you to populate specific slots in the channel (red/black first), some dont, but ultimately if you put the modules in the same channel slots you're gonna get single channel operation, just because of how memory slots are physically wired.

The casing on a PSU is earthed, it's one of the only things on a PSU that is actually safe to touch

I am going to be using Graphite Thermal Pad for my future builds. It isn't "as good", but I no longer bench mark and since I don't have to worry about the goop it's worth it. Also I think I see no reason why it wouldn't be reusable. So if I need to upgrade a CPU or a different cooler I can with little hassle.

I've been using one since May with my Ryzen 2600X and it works pretty well tbh. I was surprised and yeah, I've always hated dealing with paste as well.

Unless you pile a load of TIM on and then use insufficient mounting pressure it doesn't really matter if you overdo it. To those defending this "tutorial", I expect my tutor to have a clue, criticising them for not having a clue seems perfectly legitimate to me. He could have watched a couple of videos first and got it right, it's both shitty journalism and PC building.

I've been using one since May with my Ryzen 2600X and it works pretty well tbh. I was surprised and yeah, I've always hated dealing with paste as well.

Been using it on my 8600K @ 4.9ghz (1.22v), and the difference in temps was within the margin of error (1-2c) even under 24 hour stress testing. The fact that i didnt have to clean and re-apply paste when removing the cooler was worth every penny. So much easier.

Something i haven't noticed being pointed out. PSU wrong orientation. This is a major issue i have with this as with most of his airflow desicions. As much as most of this video is cringe-worthy, this is how you throttle or even burn out a PC. I have not build in that case, but if its anything like mine, put it in with the fan not pointing out will leave the PC with less than a cm of air space to work with. Yes, this computer will run. Yes it will be ok for a while. After sometime (maybe six months) that supply is going to be near the end of its life.

well.. looks like the video was taken down after all the criticism of the errors, however.. this is a very good example of why telling everyone shopping for a pc to just "build their own, its easy just plug things in" is a complete and UTTER bullshit.
